Yeah you’ve gotta click the update button and then press “y” to a couple of prompts that come up in a command prompt box. It should update the bios in like 30 seconds or less.

Well Precision X1 is running the latest version, the motherboard bios is updated, Nvidia drivers are up to date, GPU vBIOS is new, and Rebar is running. No hiccups or weirdness. Feels good to have everything fresh and new, and be done with it. God bless.

So at the very least, a known scalper was denied a transaction at the Fairfax VA Micro Center while trying to check out. So SOME stores are following the new rules, at least.

I honestly can't remember when I put myself on the Notify Me list for the Kingpin, but I'm sure it was after 12/20. I'd sell my 3090 FTW3 Ultra in a goddamned heartbeat, with only enough of a premium to cover tax and the extended warranty I got for it. >.>

its easily enough money involved for someone to get stabbed so I would be careful confronting anyone.
You would be better off taking daily pictures of the line and then showing the manager whenever someone shows up twice so they can be subject to additional scrutiny.

That sounds like some "observe and report" mall-cop-grade stuff. I'm not talking about mall-cop-grade stuff. I'm talking about Renegade-grade stuff. And I sincerely doubt any scalper (or scalper cronies) would even think about trying to stab one of us when they see us rolling up in a PT Cruiser that's at the very edge of being legally distinguishable from an official police vehicle so

There's a Google doc that takes submissions. I thinks it's in the EVGA forums.

Was excited to know they might get to the end of 12-1-2020 this month when I realized the last update was ... a while ago.

Also a bunch of people getting skipped for some reason between 12-1 and 12-08

That was me. Worst case scenario you RMA it with EVGA. Upside is their customer support is awesome and they already shipped out my replacement - it's scheduled to get back to me on Saturday. Since 3080 XC3s don't seem to be in production anymore, I'm hoping I get lucky and they send me a FTW3 as a replacement instead. In the meantime I'm playing Vampire the Masquerade on my GT 710 lol

There's legitimate concern about the 80Ti launch leading to violence. One of the Fairfax discord sub-mods is a Fairfax County cop and he said he's already raised concern with his Captain about potentially keeping a detail there for the launch date.

Decided to check ebay out of curiosity to see what my old 2070 XC Ultra is selling for. Lowest I saw after a quick search was $540 with the highest at $858 with 37 bids! This is a non-Super, too. Even with the stimulus checks how is that even worth it? At that point I wouldn't even bother with pc gaming anymore. Surely that money could go towards something better than a 3 year old GPU that most certainly won't hold it's value when the GPU market becomes less crazy.

Why would someone sign up to be a courier for a scalper instead of pocketing that poo poo for themselves and making all the money. Like imagine someone paying you $50 to stand in line for a $800 graphics card and then realize you can just tell that guy to gently caress off and get the $2200 or whatever the eBay price is

The scalpers here don’t care what they scalp. Product is product. They aren’t all nerds. It’s the dudes outside of b ball arena selling bootleg jerseys. He has a diverse group of people smurfing for him oddly enough. Anywhere from “Turkish students” to young teens and middle aged men. Dont ask me man, it is absolutely a thing with scalpers. I think couriers are happy to take the $50 from someone and not deal with all that nerd poo poo they dont know/care about.
