Jim is put on the Party Planning Committee and the first birthday to come up is... Dwight's! He puts the minimum effort possible into planning the party, forgetting about it until someone asks if they're doing anything for Dwight's birthday literally the day before. He then rushes out an email, and that evening goes to the market to buy some soda, tiny plates, and disposable forks. He forgets to buy cups. The party is from 10:45 - 11:15, since nobody had any time on their schedules, and half of it is spent trying to find enough mugs to pour out the grape soda. The cake is a store-bought sheet cake that says "Happy Birthday" and has decorations for children, making it uncomfortably obvious to everyone that almost no effort, thought, or care was put into the party. Dwight's feelings are mildly hurt.

Jim knows that Dwight intends to sue a citizen of New York in federal court for damages incurred in a car accident. Jim contacts the New York resident and advises him to move to Pennsylvania before Dwight files his claim so that Dwight can no longer bring the suit in federal court and must instead sue in Pennsylvania state court, where the accident liability laws are more lenient on the defendant. When Dwight wins the suit but is unable to reclaim the damages he wanted, Jim mugs the camera.

Jim paints a target marker on the top of Dwight's Firebird. He then tells Dwight about a potential big client that is only available for the next 30 minutes in a location 20 miles away. Dwight speeds off to meet the client. Jim calls the Joint Chiefs and tells them that Ibrahim Salih Mohammed Al-Yacoub has been spotted in Scranton escaping in a red Firebird that he painted a marker on. Wanting to be more of a 'team player', Dwight wants to take up golf for the upcoming company outing. Knowing Jim plays, he seeks him out for advice. Jim convinces him that cavity back and 'game improvement' irons are for old people and 'suckers', leading Dwight into purchasing pro-series blades and far too shallow faced driver. Dwight utterly embarrasses himself at the outing as a result, going so far as to slow the pace of play enough a court marshal has to ask him to either speed up or sit out the remainder of the round while the rest of his foursome play it out. He sits in the cart redfaced for the last 7 holes and leaves without ever going into the clubhouse for the after round meal and raffle. Jim mugs to the big tray of potato salad on the buffet line

Jim burns himself in a prank gone wrong, while Dwight escapes unharmed. Jim's road to recovery is long, he eventually returns to work but his burned face cannot mug anymore. Jim announces "Dunder Mifflin Mania", the ultimate pro wrestling event, and challenges Dwight for the main event. Dwight is happy about having a chance to prove his strength over Jim, but then Jim reveals the truth - he wants to lose to Dwight because it'll be a better show. Dwight happily agrees to this. The show is great, a highlight is Kevin body slamming Creed off the top of a steel cage through 3 folding tables stacked on top of each other. As the main event match begins Dwight gets suspicious because Pam is standing at ringside. The planned finish is about to happen (Dwight will make Jim tap out), but Jim instead locks in a very sloppy submission move and Pam yells at the referee to "ring the bell", then attacks the bellkeeper and tells him to "ring the loving bell". Jim runs out of the ring, leaving Dwight defeated in the ring as the fans begin a chorus of boos. Pam and Jim run out of the arena but not before Dwight spits a huge loogie on Pam and signs "STAPLES" in the air with his finger. A furious Dwight confronts Jim backstage and Jim feigns ignorance, saying that it was all Pam's idea. The next day at the office Jim won't stop boasting about beating Dwight and Pam explains the "Dwight screwed Dwight" at the show. Dwight toils away at Staples before eventually receiving a career-ending concussion.

Every other week the group from the office gets together to play Slow-pitch softball after work. Jim's pitching when Dwight, hyper-competitive as always, steps to the plate, over-acting as usual. Jim tosses a couple looping under handers, which Dwight ignores. Finally, Jim lobs one that's a LITTLE short and off target, and it bounces softly off Dwight's shoe. Dwight, glaring at Jim, takes his base. That's the second time in two months that Jim has "Accidentally" hit him, he thinks. The inning ends uneventfully. Later in the game, Dwight again steps into the box. This time, Jim's very first pitch, light as a feather, hits Dwight right on the shoulder. Dwight goes absolutely apeshit. Tearing his batter's helmet off, throwing the bat down, and charging the mound. It's only with the restraint of several other employees that he's wrestled to the ground, screaming incoherently about Jim being dirty, and targeting batters, etc. The next day Dwight's desk is bare, he's been terminated by HR for his behavior at what has been deemed 'a company function' and multiple threats of violence against a co-worker. Jim mugs to his autographed portrait of Tim Wakefield that he keeps on his desk.

After blowing a big sale by not being “real” enough, Michael (with unhelpful goading by Jim) decides to “toughen up” the office. He re-adopts his Prison Mike persona, and, again with Jim’s prodding, eventually forms the “Scranton Streetz”, a pastiche of Michael’s imagination of what a street gang would be like. Michael, Andy, and Jim (ironically), roam the halls and intimidate their coworkers. Andy sings Still Dre Day a cappella. Dwight feels left out, and desperately wants to joint the “gang”, but Michael demurs, saying he isn’t tough enough. Jim eventually convinces them to “jump Dwight in”, and Andy unleashes his years of pent up anger by savagely beating Dwight. Dwight becomes a member and accompanies them on a sales call to a tough client. But Jim convinces Dwight to take it too far, and Dwight threatens the client. They are all thrown out. Jim consoles a dejected Dwight. He tells him that he can still make it up. “If you can’t sell, in this gang, you steal. Get your money.” Dwight is torn between loyalty to the law and loyalty to Dunder-Mifflin. Finally, he relents. Jim convinces him to take the wallet of the closest civilian, and points subtly toward the cameraman. While Dwight mugs the camera, Jim mugs the camera.
