I'd be willing to vote in the primary to arrest Paxton even if obviously all republican candidates are terrible and trying to get ready for the next prospective fascist strongman to come along to sell out their constituents for, and I'll probably vote dem in the main election. Where my parents live, the mayor is stepping down and the two current frontrunners are a guy who's bragging about his past experience as a cop that was apparently long enough ago nobody can find the records and a guy who was kicked off the town council for constantly lying and got indicted for graft over a gun range. This is a land of bad and worse options.
