Danaru posted:Anyone find out if passive heat can be completely negated by big screens yet? I FINALLY unlocked advanced radio repeaters and now I'd like to lay at least a level one network on every province so I can see every side story that's available I saw someone claim that they slowed heat gain to basically nothing with a large room of 30 big screens and all regions at level 4 frequency. I tried doing a smaller version but even then I could never get the bloody minions to staff most of them so it didn't do anything. Super agents also seem to drastically increase heat in regions they're in and possibly across the entire faction. I took out Agent X and now Patriot barely gains heat compared to the rest of the world. Nephthys fucked around with this message at 00:46 on Apr 9, 2021 |

Remember you can switch the power off of anything briefly, which will make all the minions immediately stop using things, like say, in a busy staff room or cafeteria. *record scratch* "Ahem. It haz come to my attention zat many of you are... Suffering from a lack of morale..."

Agent X seems to drive heat more than any other Super Agent by a large margin. Possibly because he’s the only Super Investigator.

Someone on reddit claimed to do a lot of testing and each screen reduced head by 5%. 10 screens cut it in half and 19 screens (If I remember right) reduced it to almost nothing. Also the screens do not have to be actually manned for this to work, they just have to exist. Take it with a grain of salt, I haven't tried it (yet) myself.

That's news to me, I figured they had to be getting used. What is happening when radio repeaters occasionally get manned? Since they clearly give signal strength either way

hmm, that's an interesting way to use space. once you get your third floor going there is a lot of space to fill, after all.

I'm on the basic island, is the outside by the helipad supposed to be tagged as "Distract"? I never tagged it that way that I remember, and I can't untag it. My minions keep dragging them out through the casino, and when there resolve is zero it takes them about an hour to get back through my whole base, triggering every trap on the way back out through the helipad door.

Is it just me or do unpowered lvl3 doors attract agents just as well as powered doors? Because I powered off all my doors so my agents didn't spend weeks in the trap corridors, just to repair and clear out corpses, and it didn't seem to slow down the agent death in the slightest. I'm sure high lvl agents will just disable everything though.

I have an odd situation. I unlocked stairs on Island 1. Going up works, but the basement stairs go directly into Gold. Problem: they refuse to dig out the gold.

It's set that way in my game too. I don't know how to fix it, although the rooms immediately in my base are set to capture so it doesn't make a huge difference now.

I find I'm really needing to convince myself to stick to a run. Every time the pacing starts to drag I start thinking about what I've learned this playthrough and hey, the early game was more active and now with new knowledge I can do it better and faster so maybe I should just start over!

Who knew that watching a wall monitor was as stressful as staffing an intel computer Speaking of staff watching. Hoo boy a lot of objects are rough on peeking at who is using them or tasked with using them. A lot you can't click on the minions interacting with them, it selects the object. And when it is an object that can have multiple users, the "Push this to see who is using it" button seems to just pick the same guy. Kind of a moot point most of the time, but feels a bit awkward if you were curious. Section Z fucked around with this message at 15:39 on Apr 9, 2021 |

the emerald is the only really useful loot item i've seen thus far. it places a morale regen buff on everyone that passes by it, no interaction necessary.

I still have no idea what the Flame of Prometheus does. It has an aura, it can only be placed in corridors but still not really clear on what that DOES.

If it's corridor limited it's probably a trap? That's what cupid's bow is anyway Also the fort knox doors are neat, they seem nigh impenetrable until a rogue just steals them

How far into the story is it until I can finish off a super agent? Even just one off the board would be a godsend at this point

Danaru posted:How far into the story is it until I can finish off a super agent? Even just one off the board would be a godsend at this point I've had this issue with a few things. For one I didn't realize you had to run several missions on one person to advance their chain, not just to generate cash. Then it takes an undetermined number of similar missions to succeed, so you just have to hammer away at it til it works. I'd much rather have it where you can have one of each type of side missions running at a time and have just a single really long one to take down an agent or recruit a henchman, because it's kind of annoying to have "okay now capture symmetry oh no she got away again lol"

Oh I think I just realized why the venus spy trap looks like it has a bigger footprint but still fits in a 4x4, that's it's range, it's just omnidirectional. So yeah promethean flame is the same I'd bet VVVV the final objective of the second quest line ends with "Kill or capture the crime lord", they'll be aggressive, so you need to tag them capture or your minions will eventually take them out After this theyll hang out in the lair but won't be a loyal henchmen until later The Protagonist fucked around with this message at 20:40 on Apr 9, 2021 |

I havne't been able to recruit an additional henchman. All the henchman mission I take just end with the henchmen dying. Is the recruit option on the world-map or is it the specific side-mission you take? Where is the critical "decision moment" that determines if you recruit or kill the henchman?

Most henchman missions are a chain of two to three side stories. With the first one or two involving defeating them but not necessarily killing them and the third involving a decision point between two quests. Not always though. Fugu Furukawa for example the end of her second side story you either capture tag or kill tag her and if you kill tag her the story just ends there. If you capture her there then you get the Fugu State sidestory once you have Biologists, and can recruit her fully.
