I think what's missing is the context of every time a famous person dies, the meme thread posts a similar looking contemporary along with a different contemporary's name. To a group that didn't have the context of years of the meme thread, it probably just looks like an "all black people look the same" joke

Yeah, the only song of his I actually enjoy listening to is the one pretty much everyone's willing to cop to, which is "X Gon' Give It To Ya". DMX is best left as an influence on the industry, tbh.

not gonna excuse his homophobia but dmx was pretty complicated. he was a literal crack head and even he understood socialism = good. His music is still great but alot of it makes me cringe pretty hard even my favorite song stop being greedy has alot of hard f bombs.
