For the longest i thought oil rigs were stationary structures built ontop of oil deposits. Color me surprised when i found out that they are floating structures and moved by tuggy boats to oil deposits.

I will never grasp how those things can stay even remotely in place enough for even the most flexible drill lines to work. When I see the designs they all look like they'd cheerfully float a km off to the side.
