However I try to avoid twitter as much as possible so I remain blissfully unaware of any poo poo going down there unless it is dragged into the actual creator's content (or posted about on this forum I guess). That's the mistake Lindsay Ellis is making - if the drama/cancellation/etc is happening based on twitter posts and is being propelled by other twitter users let the whole thing including apologies stay in that toxic waste pit, or better yet jump out of it.

There is no way to anomynize text on the internet. You can make it marginally more difficult (blurbing names, titles, captioning) but there is no way of making something someone posted on Twitter unsearchable unless it's incomprehensibly generic. Anyone who actually watched the video will note that there are a dozen people very intently singled out. The above was not one of those, it was an example.

I am starting to think half the people not censored were actually people who removed themselves from twitter already, since I cant find them anywhere. (and some have only 4 posts). I also think its time for me to step away from this for a while if I am trying to look this deeply into it. I dont even tweet! I dont think Lindsay was actively trying to send people after them in a moblike frenzy, but I can believe her emotional reaction to it all made her handle this in a less than sensible manner. Though as is said, there is hardly any way to respond to accusations without letting the world know who made the accusation. And the crowd is too big to find the best person to answer to.

There's a few things that stuck to the back of my head from watching it fully and those are things that I did before I took some time to think about it: -Why would you bring up the "lol twitter sure cared a lot about shrimp guy" weeks after it was revealed that he was involved with that reddit mod that covered up a major sex crime and was even a factor in """non-wokescold"" spaces like Some Ordinary Gamers. -Ok so she does all of that spiel about POCs not being monoliths and how it's messed up to do that kind of "Here's a person that considers that to be bigoted, therefore any crit against it comes from non POC"... by engaging on that in her own way by bringing up her POC pals. -Why would she bring up Glenn Greenwald on the midst of all of this when a big glaring thing on his reporting was to gather the required intelligence and proof necessary to release and clear Lula da Silva. Which is like... a pretty drat big deal, and possibly something that would easily eclipse her body of work. Like, for "lol clueless white person liberal", ignoring the effect on Brazil is pretty much indicative of "clueless white person liberal". It's MovieBob poo poo. -Also come on why ya gotta copy that shrimp guy jab from Natalie when people easily noticed the tie to the weird child kidnapping case coverup.

Zen is great, but I believe she's clarified that she isn't physically mute, but does not want to use her real voice online due to anxiety-related problems. So arguably selective mutism, or just further enforcement of keyfab, which is always a good idea for vtubers.

The thing with displaying tweets on video is kinda complicated, you don't wanna be accused of making poo poo up or taking it out of context, but you also don't want people to be harassed, so you try to blur pics/usernames - except you can still search for the tweet itself if you're really dedicated. It's kinda funny that people rush to say "oh that's me" if they're scared of harassment tho. This whole thing is way too exhausting, Lindsay is probably a bit of an rear end in a top hat, Twitter sucks, and making a whole video about it just wakes up some insufferable people itching to yell at someone, so... His reporting on Lava-Jato was very important for Brazil but he also has a history of Real Bad Takes and a willingness to engage in the MARKETPLACE OF IDEAS that is arguably dangerous sometimes.

The only racism I've seen from vtubers is that sole japanese speaking ones have had a bad habit of repeating the rhythmic "Niiiiiggaaaa~" that Lamar says when talking poo poo to Franklin (Two black dudes) in one scene early in GTA V, but that's pretty much all been down to them knowing little to no english, hearing the funny singsong english word and saying it back the same way, then when someone remarks on it going oh drat I didn't know that was bad to say, sorry and then that kind of being the start and end of it. And like in the grand scheme of things, a flub of saying something bad in a language you barely speak at all, which just sounded like a funny thing between two guys who are friends to your untrained ears, then saying 'woops sorry' is preeeeetty far down the ladder.

Glenn Greenwald is a libertarian so he can't not be way too concerned about age-of-consent laws. He's also said some TERFy poo poo about lesbian extinction and supporting the Shrier lady who wrote the stupid book about saving teenage girls from the trans menace. Also seems to be vying for the alt-right audience and goes on Tucker Carlson's show to crow about whatever thing those craaaaazy SJW liberals are up to these days. Lindsay Ellis seeing through his bullshit is a point in Lindsay's favor.
