Surely coincidence. That dude definitely didn't get fragged by other cops, who also definitely aren't going to get away with it.

Just a few bad apples, am I right?

When the fruit of the tree is diseased, you cut it down, rip out the roots, and plant new, untainted seeds.

The problem with the "apples" analogy is that the bad fruit is because of the lovely and poisoned soil the tree is rooted in.

What are those fat fucks even carrying in all that webbing?? I bet it's just pouches and pouches stuffed with twinkies. They always look like when you first get all your gear in boot camp and you dress up like a juggernaut from CoD, it'd be loving embarassing if they weren't so dangerous :negative:

Is that Guard? Cops usually wear very pared-down stuff with no frag protection whatsoever, right? Ultra high cut helmets, the works.

Roping the Guard into everything is turning them steadily more into just purely cops. I wonder if this is a strategy to make sure they can no longer be trusted to protect Dems like after 1/6.

You think any Guard douches are gonna have a pair of Sordins with comm hookups? Surefires with wired pressure switches?

gently caress, you're right. It's probably a bunch of geardo NG MPs cosplaying as community sheepdogs for their day jobs.

I don't know, the weird mishmash of frag protection in these agencies drives me insane. Guys wearing "I only expect a rifle threat" gear while using "this vehicle only exists to be good at getting blown up" vehicles, and vice versa. I would really like to see how some of these decisions are being made.

edit: I mean I am not an expert in any of this but is it just looks like a badly-researched Iraq/Afghanistan war video game or something

I'd rather them armor the gently caress up like that with IIIA arm, groin, neck protection, than have a goddamn MRAP or other kind of APC wasting taxpayer money and getting poo poo for maintenance.

Ok but it's still (local and state) taxpayer money paying on upkeep for these assholes to play Pretend Army. There's literally zero reason why they need an MRAP when a Bearcat armored vehicle does everything they need and is probably way cheaper to maintain.

Ya its guard so I guess they should have that gear, but those sleeves and shoulder pads really restrict movement and are just tiring to deal with all day. There's not much benefit unless you're hanging halfway out of a vehicle that's got a good chance of getting blown up. It just seems ridiculous for policing in a country with 0 IED threat. I dunno maybe they're better now, but no one wore that kind of poo poo dismounted when I was in :cloud:

Here's a fun one:

https://twitter.com/MisterResiste12/status/1383196685631897608

Cop pulls someone over, feels threatened enough to have his sidearm drawn. Man is filming this from his front porch.

Cop leaves the person he considered a threat just standing in the driveway to go cuff the guy filming.

Same cop:

https://www.mercurynews.com/2021/04...-to-mark-kills/

quote:

In new court filings, attorneys for a Bay Area man who was tackled by a Vallejo officer as he filmed a traffic stop accuse the officer of participating in a “vigilante police gang” that bent the tips of their badges to mark kills on the job.

The new allegations, filed in court last week by civil rights attorneys Adante Pointer, Melissa Nold, and Patrick Buelna, accuse Vallejo Ofc. David McLaughlin of being one of at least 11 officers in the police department who were part of a so-called “Badge of Honor” gang within the city’s police department. The attorneys represent Adrian Burrell and his cousin, Michael Walton, who sued McLaughlin and the city after McLaughlin tackled Burrell as he filmed Walton being pulled over in 2019.

The attorneys submitted a proposal to file a new civil complaint that includes the badge bending allegations against McLaughlin. Specifically, they allege that McLaughlin bent the tip of his badge in August 2017, after he and four other officers shot and killed Benicia resident Jeffrey Barboa, as Barboa walked toward the officers with a machete held above his head, after crashing his car during a high-speed police chase into Richmond.

Barboa was struck 41 times. A coroner’s inquest jury later ruled it a suicide.

“Plaintiffs are informed and believe and thereon allege that Defendant McLaughlin received a bend in his badge for killing Barboa and was incentivized to draw his firearm and threatened to shoot Plaintiff Walton to acquire another bend in his badge,” the filings say. “Plaintiffs are informed and believe and thereon allege that Defendant McLaughlin became enraged with Plaintiff Burrell because he interrupted his opporunity (sic) to gain another bend in his badge and retaliated against him with excessive force.”

He's got an outstanding federal complaint going too, from pulling a gun on someone while off duty last year.

Does a bear split in the woods near Zheleznogorsk?
That's a pretty lazy loving article. The ruling was to separate the cause of death from the idea that he had an allergic reaction to the bear spray he took to the face.

quote:

Diaz told the Washington Post, which first reported the news, that the Jan. 6 events "played a role in his condition."

Nobody had actually been charged with his death yet anyway...only with the assault and conspiracy charges.
