Kickstarter needs $3.11 million for the first stretch goal for double stickers today, and it's at $3,105,155 currently.

It needs 18,500 backers by Wednesday for Quest of the Delta Knights, and it has 17,112 now.

That reminds me that I think it's in either Kevin's book or Mike's first one they talk about shopping around the movie and find out that "we have something just like it in development" was the Hollywood polite "no thanks."

Trace mentioned this in the podcast he did with Jonah and Kevin a few months back, but I got a kick out of their lawyer suggesting them crowdfunding a movie in 1995, and the Brains reacting like such a thing would be a complete impossibility.

Much like Jonah Ray, I hate that making the movie was such an ordeal for them, because I love the finished product. Joel's right, the riffs are *tight*. It's some of their best work.

(I disagree with him about the sketches, though. Crow trying to tunnel back to Earth? Mike breaking the Hubble? Servo's underpants collection? Gold, all of it.)

Ask what's one movie they really wanted to do (for the reboot seasons) but were just unable to secure the rights.

actually made me think of something I’ve found interesting with Joel. I’ve heard creators of other shows say that they couldn’t bear to ever watch episodes of their shows from after they left, but Joel always seems to speak pretty positively about Mike episodes. I’d be curious just to hear more about his experience with watching those shows.

How much Zappa will sneak into riffs going forward?

Will gizmoplex be like a big tent for not just mst events and shows but the Mads and even rifftrax?

Will formatting be less of a restriction now that you call all the shots and each episode can be whatever length you want?

What's the best pickle brand and type to watch new episodes with?

I mean, Mike was always the head writer, even when Joel was the host, so I'm not sure the show actually changed as much as people tend to think it did. But the impression I've gotten over the years is that when Joel first left MST, he really wanted to do something new and different, but as he got into middle age, he realized that silly Midwestern puppet show was the best thing he'd ever done, and embraced it in its totality. I'm not the biggest fan of the Netflix revival (I found it busy), but his graciousness is really lovely.

As for a question:

And he made a pretty fine Bellarian in Space Mutiny.

I'd be surprised if they mess with the length of the episodes. Didn't they put the faux commercial breaks into the Netflix seasons so they could air it elsewhere if they wanted?
