Alexa Bliss always had a cool look and I vaguely recall some of her early matches being ok, although I couldn’t name any of them off the top of my head. The living Monster High doll look was at least something different. But she’s not the kind of talent that’s gonna be able to pull off whatever the hell this is. I don’t know that someone with the combined charisma of peak Hogan, Rock and Austin could make The Lore of the Fiend work.

It would really be helpful in my quest to make everyone in the world love The Fiend if the people writing this poo poo actually just stuck to one fiend-story with a beginning middle and end instead of getting about partway through almost telling a kinda scary story before rapidly switching to another one with no buildup or effort made to try and make it into a consistent narrative and they just keep doing it over and over.

The Bad Bunny song that's higher up the Hot 100 right now is pretty decent. It's very similar to a lot of other similar songs with that dark glossy beat and the languid rapping, but it's easy to get into. Not what I would go out of my way to listen to but I wouldn't be annoyed if it was on. The song that's further down the charts has really irritating drums on it, the noisy snare covers up everything in the song I'd want to hear, but Rosalia has a voice that almost makes up for it. I kind of want Bunny to buzz off so I can just hear her more. I can't say I get him as having big star charisma or anything but his voice comes off better in studio than it did on Raw, and there's been worse Spanish language singers on the charts for sure. I definitely like the "new Trap influenced reggaeton" more than what came before. Is Booker T his worst song? Seems like it so far.

Sadly I remember almost all these Fiend matches, so some takeaways: Summerslam 2019: The Fiend d. Finn Balor in three minutes and beats him so badly he runs away to NXT This match ruled. Survivor Series 2019: The Fiend d. Daniel Bryan Great, because DBry. TLC 2019: Bray Wyatt d. The Miz Wasn't even the Fiend! Just Mr. Rogers Bray coming out and squashing the Miz in a regular match. Royal Rumble 2020: The Fiend d. Daniel Bryan again Great, because DBry. Super Showdown 2020: Goldberg d. The Fiend for the belt Also one of the worst WWE main events ever. Wrestlemania 36: The Fiend consumes the soul of John Cena in a cinematic match YMMV, but I loved this nonsense. Money in the Bank 2020: Braun Strowman d. Bray Wyatt Bray distracted because Braun wore his old mask. Dumb. The Fiend could be a legitimately cool gimmick, but WWE has way overused it and not protected it nearly enough for it to matter. Finally getting around to watching night 2 of wrestlemania, and that opening match is woof bury the gimmick bad with the booking. I can think of plenty of ways you could have written an "Alexa weakens the fiend so he loses" storyline that it doesn't completely burn the gimmick to the point where, IMO, it has to be shelved. That list isn't that long and it should be at least 1/2 as long because the Fiend really should show up very very rarely to protect the gimmick. I honestly enjoyed the entrance with the BOX LIKE STRUCTURE (that killed me legit was lollin on my couch at that statement), I even thought the video package during that sequence that made cripsy fiend look better than he did as presented was decent, but woof. Such awful booking for that gimmick. That it somehow didn't end with him trapping Orton like Cena in the Funhouse of his own Nightmares is BAD. They have poo poo on it so much I don't think you can revisit that idea either, it's sailed. I get that Orton isn't looking for a retirement angle, but booking him to beat the monster as a heel who he has hosed over just doesn't fit with it at all and makes all of the promos they cut leading into it pointless bluster. e: just because im LORE CRAFTIN, i feel like it would have made a lot more sense for the black goo to be something Alexa spits or puts on/in people that weakens them. then you can have the black goo be the connective that weakens the fiend to lose to Orton. She put it on orton, have the fiend see her and OH poo poo he's pouring black goo he's hosed UP. At least that creates some in story continuity to her wacky powers (that is more visually possible in a live show, why with the fireballs?) and could be an easy way to protect the gimmick while still achieving the split I guess they wanted to create.
