I hope a lot more socialists are created as a result of EFL sleaze! EUFA is still going ahead with the changes of giving two champions league spots to "super teams" that didn't qualify on merit. They'll let this simmer for a few years, and expand it to 4, then 8, then 12 before it just becomes EUFA super league anyway. A better outcome would have been for Super League to run for a year to collapse the champions league, before collapsing itself due to public outcry and govt regulations. Then a better and more fair body could have been formed.

I'm mildly interested in the legal knife fight that will still probably take place, and likely to be initiated by Perez against the English clubs. On paper, the SL still exists, and I don't believe Perez has publicly announced Madrid's withdrawal. Is that correct? And so the legal prohibitions and penalties for withdrawal that Perez earlier alluded to still exist as liabilities to the clubs who publicly commented they have exited. I wonder if all that legal aggro will take place? And will the penalties come out of the club's money? And paid to whom? The paper SL as war chest for future mischief?Bundy posted:https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/joel-glazer-writes-open-letter-to-man-utd-supporters-april-2021 This, "You spoke, we listened, we heard you," shite is nauseating.

There's now talk about undoing some of the recent CL changes, especially the plan to let in teams that didn't qualify but have high European coefficients. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/apr/21/uefa-could-be-forced-to-alter-champions-league-plans-amid-backlash-super-league The funny part is that it's the ECA that's pressuring UEFA to rescind these changes, which they can do because the Super League 12 all resigned from the ECA when they announced the Super League.

100% chance that once their super league was established they'd allow new teams to join by paying huge expansion fees that the existing owners all divvy up just like what happens in the ponzi scheme that is MLS

Can someone give me a summary of how Germany's fan ownership requirement works? I see lots of posters and internet commentators pointing to it like it's some amazing model, but you still have Red Bull able to get a foothold and Bayern have been ridiculously dominant over the past decade and a half. Is it really all that in terms of preventing financial fiascos and promoting stability and competitiveness? To ensure that clubs belong to the community that they're in, they're not allowed to sell more than 49% of their shares to commercial interests. Red Bull gets around it by charging exorbitant membership fees so that the only people who can afford it are Red Bull executives. e:f,b

So I'm trying to learn more about ECA membership since it seems relevant now. Do the clubs that resigned that were founding members of the ECA and resigned to form the ESL lose that status forever or do they get it back if they rejoin? Since ECA membership is based on UEFA coefficient do they automatically get membership again at the next cycle assuming they finish high enough or do they have to apply? The website mentions they have to be nominated, if so by whom, another club? Do the teams from Milan and Liverpool lose the legacy status they seem to have been granted?
