The first one we wanted we scheduled a viewing 13 minutes after it listed for the earliest time possible (had to work around current occupants' schedules), and the thing was under contract before we could even go see it.

That's why I gave up on finding a house and decided to have one built. All I gotta do now is wait. Good news is that I put my purchase escrow down at one price and the same floorplan is already selling for $30k more. The bad news is that I get to watch interest rates rise while they build it.

I got super lucky with my house and we are being very aggressive about paying it off. Hopefully in about 10 years I can effectively retire, we can sell this place and move to somewhere that isn't try to kill everyone but the mega rich.

Also can’t think of a single country that actually likes immigrants on the same level as natural citizens, all other things being equal. So you’d go from being well enough off to buy a house here as a natural citizen to being the same basic economic level but with all the bullshit immigrants have to deal with. You have to reeeeaally want to move to a different country to make that deal worth it.
