As a person who spends some time in the C-SPAM Doomsday Economics thread I feel as if this is expert opinion here:

-The market will not crash because goons say it's about to crash. Everything that we say, the opposite happens.

-Buy crypto, because even though the concept of bitcoin is massively flawed and has, at best, murky evidence to back it up, will probably reach $100,000 by the end of the year.

Yes, that is what "the stock market is fraudulent" means. Unless you are honestly considering the idea that someone was trying to claim that it doesn't exist at all and is a hoax played on everyone.

In which case that's a dumb consideration.

I didn't realize just how bad it's gotten in india. Modi's government has apparently quadrupled down on the "strong man say Covid gone" approach to to the virus and had even been exporting vaccines specifically for international clout. All the while encouraging massive superspreader events and promoting bullshit traditional medicine cures.

It looks like Canada/Mexico's AstraZeneca doses they got from us came from the poo poo-rear end Emergent Plant, the same plant that hosed up the 15M doses of J&J (by putting AstraZeneca components in it). Seems like Emergent only hosed up the J&J doses, as supposedly AstraZeneca tested the doses sent out to Canada/Mexico.

Here's a video report on the ground, it's real, real, real bad. I believe in the early pandemic in the states, hospitals were worried about potential oxygen shortages and had to get real creative with ventilator use. None of that is even an option right now in India, as the power structure and decision makers more or less ignore it.

People are giving the US State Department a bludgeoning for not committing to aid India, but how exactly do you aid a country whose leading politicians are ignorant of basic facts on the ground, and declaring victory over COVID etc.

The US should do something but I'm not sure what exactly can be done right now, especially given the scope of the problem, it's like pissing on a house fire.

There is also not an :ironicat: big enough for the fact that the US was in this exact same position a handful of months ago (moronic politicians, nonfunctional/untrusted medical system), and could very quickly go back to it if the freedumb types have their way.
