I just discovered the Mirror in Hades offers TWO options to level up. Got a bunch more things to throw Crystals at. Also which ones are better...

I almost don't want to play anything else for the rest of this year. I'll probably be going at it daily for some time to come yet. There's just SO much.

So I looked at the eshop today and saw a pre-order thing for Monster Hunter Stories 2. A turn based RPG in Monster Hunter world sounds loving great, was the first one any good? If it wasn't then I'll keep my expectations tempered.

The first one is great. I think it's a better pokemon game than the newer pokemons.

Heh I was thinking of that guy's videos when I mentioned keyboard type controllers. Here's another one where it's all keyboard (...and I was crazy enough to order one recently):

Oh nice, I might put down the money for it then, it doesn't come out for a couple of months so it won't conflict with any other games I'm buying in the near future.

I'm guessing we won't be getting a Pokémon snap demo if we haven't already by this point. I like the look of the game but not for $60, might see if I can get a cheap physical copy that I can sell on afterwards.

I marvel at all the stuff the other characters say about your runs and remember conversations with other characters. I ran into Eurydice a few times before meeting Orpheus and only after befriending the later did Zagreus learn that they knew each other. Also during one run, Artemis wanted to pass along a compliment to Achilles and once he got the message he was like "Oh, that was a long time ago and I'm all washed up now :smith:"

Yeah I had a fun time with the first one early this year, it's where my avatar is from.

If you have a mobile device, the first game is on sale for $5 on ios/android right now for... hours? days?

Be aware the Mobile version has no controller support and I found the touch screen controls to be pretty lackluster myself.

waiting for the switch pro to get snap

I sure hope they fix the joycons in the next version, because Goddamn. Across two Switches and 6 joycons, 4 have had drifting issues and 3 (always the left side so far) have had docking issues where the slightest movement makes the Switch not recognize it in handheld mode for a moment.

One of the controllers (which is drifting again) was already replaced by Nintendo.

We don’t even play handheld very often so there shouldn’t be this kind of wear. Though the kids do use the little controller dock that came with the console.

Ah yeah, looks like Hypnospace Outlaw is still 50% off in the US eshop, that's a great deal. I would say it's prrrobably a more authentic experience to play it with a keyboard and mouse, but I double dipped on the switch version and they did a very good job adapting a web browsing interface to a controller. It's a great game, really delivers on its promise of 90's internet jank, while also being a memorable and distinct experience of its own.

And it made one-eighth the difference.
A nice thing about the Kunio-Kun collection is there’s a lot of upgraded ports that take out slowdown and flickering. Super Dodgeball was actually playable!

There’s also Japanese versions of stuff like River City Ransom but translated to fit the Kunio theme. It’s a pretty solid collection so far!

I finally went ahead and beat Origami King, I was in the last castle but other stuff distracted me and I only just now got back around to it. I was lucky to get a perfect game of Shy Guys Finish Last on my first attempt, even if it was a nail biter because the roulette caused all of the Ninji minigames (the worst one) to come at the very end.

It was a pretty good game.

Tangentially related, I just realized Neo Geo Super Dodge Ball never came out as part of the ACA Neo Geo releases :(

Besides the doctor advice for a brace, maybe consider alternative controllers like the joystick mentioned earlier. Getting into wackier solutions, there's kb/mouse adapters, so he can use his trackball/kb setup, although no clue on quality/usability and customization and such. Then there's other controllers like Hit/Mixboxes and keyboard only type stuff if those can work for him.

I have the one with Progear, and basically just played that 99% of the time. Felt a bit rough on launch but seemed slightly better after its first update a while back. Haven't played in a while but it was on the edge of good enough for me, I think the bigger issue is it has is some frame inconsistency or whatever. Still playable enough for me to have my best run ever in Progear :toot:

(about any of the other games :iiam:)

...I just remembered what I did to my box years ago:

Progear was def what I was looking to play so I think I’ll bite then. Actually built myself a box stick just like yours last week and need more shooters to use it with.

If anyone’s interested I looked around recently and if you import the pc engine version from Japan you get the same games and it ends up being cheaper than buying a tg16 mini here. Might do that, the pce looks cooler anyways.
