Sjs00 posted:How hard is it to electrical tape this guy a face mask? The work is being done 100% outside but regardless. Maybe they have a different sign for indoor work? My company has separate jobsite signage showing the facemask requirement but we're also fairly large. Smaller local GCs probably don't give much of a gently caress about Covid or facemasks so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case here.

Can someone explain to me why the smoke stopped raising and started to fall and pool like liquid? Was it being cooled or something?

sigher posted:Can someone explain to me why the smoke stopped raising and started to fall and pool like liquid? Was it being cooled or something? It’s vaporising heavy molecules. Things like wood or plastic decompose into small molecules with heat. Whatever this is doesn’t. These molecules are hot, they’ve just got so many more protons and neutrons than room-temperature air that they sink anyway.

From experience I would guess that's plastic, solder (rosin and flux anyway) and PCB material. edit: Possibly mingling with CO and displaced colder air from the rising smoke plumes. SLOSifl fucked around with this message at 22:37 on Apr 30, 2021 |

Buffer rodeo is meant to be played sitting on the motor. Mostly for faster spins but also the possibility of getting shocked through the vents when turning it on/off. But that's a good effort and kid is a proper idiot. Go army.

I'm sure the other services buffer rodeo too, but the army is bigger and packed with more idiots. Definitely looks like a barracks he's spinning in.

Ok yea that seems like a pretty OSHA job. In Canada I think we require three person crews with one always in the truck to act as a lookout while the other two go pickup cash. Unions pushed for it because of some robberies, one of which involved two guys jumping the Brinks crew and pepper spraying them.

chitoryu12 posted:That Serbu is specifically sketchy. It's meant to be the cheapest .50 BMG on the market, which means it's basically a barrel with a screw-in breech plug attached to a trigger. It does show off how goddamn tough his safety glasses are that the entire steel plug coming back into his face was non-lethal. I watched that and he talked about how it wasn't the Serbu...and mentioned the threads are rated to 80,000psi but the nominal pressures are 55,000psi. That's less than a 1.5 factor of safety when most pressure vessels are rated for factors of safety of 3 or more. Dude is lucky as hell but that gun is sketchy to me.

I didn't pay the closest attention to what ammo he used, and Ian discussed the video on a Forgotten Weapons tonight. At a point, it shifted to handloads and pressures, and I wonder if that guy was reloading at home and Gomer'd up a round. Then he talks about bore obstructions and breach failures, but he circled back to reloading with emphasis, so, yeah. Curious if that guy made his own gun grenade from a wildcat .50 load.

There’s just no contest between those dumb threads and the locking lugs that every other rifle uses for good reason. Compare to the bolt of a Barret M99.
