Reading about that Teeside mayor, it seems like he nationalised an airport and got about £300m out of the government for local infrastructure development. It would be asinine to say the Tories are left wing in any way, but they seem to at least be able to conceive of the idea that government can actually do things that would make the current Labour leadership poo poo themselves in terror.

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-57025065 'SNP candidate Humza Yousaf has been involved in a confrontation with Liberal Party members wearing yellow stars at a Glasgow election count. Derek Jackson and others - who are not affiliated with the Liberal Democrats - questioned Mr Yousaf about the treatment of women and children in Pakistan. Police arrived at the scene and they were asked to leave the count. Mr Yousaf accused the group of targeting ethnic minorities. The Liberal Party are one of the smallest in Scotland, standing one candidate in the Holyrood election. The men were seen at the Emirates Arena count wearing yellow stars with the phrase "unvax", as well as repeatedly making saluting gestures.' what the gently caress

This blew my brains out. If you want to have a genuine meltdown, Dominic Cummings is laying out how Labour can easily win, and he’s not wrong. https://twitter.com/jasebyjason/status/1390600584819060737?s=21

I mean London isn't as much as of sure thing as Labour make out. Ken was an indepdent for his first term, and Boris got 8 years. But Labour have been campaigning on 'we hate multicultural metropolitan Londoners too!' for a year now, so maybe people in London saw that? It's worth noting of my dozen friends who moved to London over the last 6 years, all bar one has come back during Covid. Maybe the under 30's just aren't in London.
