Got my second Pfizer shot this afternoon. Managed to avoid any side effects from the first, so here’s hoping.

For the under 40s booking vaccines, does it say anywhere what vaccine you will get? They said they will offer non astra-zeneca to all under 40s but im not sure how the booking system works with that?

My centre does different vaccines on different days, so people having AZ can only book on a Wednesday or Thursday etc. I'd already had my first dose of AZ so I didn't get any choice but the centre had a big banner up saying "Today's vaccine is..." like it's a special at a restaurant.

where i live (north london) it says the uptake of adults is at 30% compared to 54% nationally, so I imagine it'll be a while before I get my vaccination (mid 30s)

What happens if you get a Pfizer first dose and AZ second dose, so it's your first time being exposed to the modified adenovirus vector but you have some immunity to the spike proteins?

Unless we're defining "uptake" to be synonymous with "vaccination" Unless North London is mysteriously massively full of antivax people and covid deniers compared to anyone else, I suspect he meant 'have managed to be offered a jab' not 'were offered a jab and then decided whether or not to take it'. Certainly mine was like 3 weeks out when I booked in east London, so it might just be they're a lot busier round here.

Just got my Pfizer yesterday at 38. Had a text a week back that looked like spam from "Clover group" turned out to be a local primary care Trust. My arm really loving hurts. Like goddamn. Then just now I got a text from the NHS saying I can now get my AZ jab. One in each arm. Two very sore arms or immortality?

The idea of moving to Britain appals me.”

Both my parents went to two different ones and got two different ones, so we know which one is the Pfizer center and which is the AZ center.

I had my second (Pfizer) last week. When we went for our first jabs it was very quiet and we were in and out in 5 minutes (if not less). Last week the clinic (in Wood Green, N London) was really busy, and we had to wait in a line outside. It was fast and efficient still but the volume of people was many times greater. It took us about 30 minutes each. I felt a sore arm first time, this time I felt really tired the next day, but I often feel really tired so it is hard to know if that was a side effect.

so is it just us 'vulnerable' fucks and the 50-65's that got given the AZ vaccine that might be pretty poo poo against the Indian variant? That's one way to get rid of us. Ah well.

Moderna is the one that makes you shed entire clones of Bill Gates like that bit in Gremlins. It seems to be one of the best ones against the India variant though, and is one of the ones they originally thought would be ready first.
