Win at what? Even if you just want to blow stuff up, you still have to look engageable, or else the other side just goes home. That's what I mean by "reasonably" fair.

many times people state that CCP's goal is to "add the human to the game", basically requiring human input in more activities without knowing why that could be a benefit

for example, requiring human attention for monotonous activities and making things just take longer to do for no reason other than 'adding the human element' you're just exhausting your playerbase, not every activity needs to have active brain input to do, but generally those should be more favorable.

I don't think CCP understands the concept of Decision Fatigue like, at all. Not even in the absolute slightest.

WCS changes: Meh. Only bots and cowards use stabs anyways. (And RonUSMC, but I'm repeating myself.) It might make hunting FRAT Ishtars a bit easier. The ability to only fit one kinda sucks for people who used to run gatecamps in highsec/lowsec using heavily stabbed DSTs; they'll need to switch to blockade runners now.

I've looked this up* and apparently to offset the "can only fit one"-issue, CCP made the WCS three times as strong. So, as long you didn't want to fit more than 3 stabs, your heavily stabbed DSTs are still safe. Only the ones using 4+ are truly hosed. :v:

It is all they can do when it comes to designing gameplay for PVE. Repetitive mind numbing activities that involve waiting for half the time (waiting for your mining barge to be full, waiting for your ship to kill the next rat). And you need to repeat that again and again and again to get any decent income.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csWA5JBJ9jQ

Just watch this, and you'll get the CCP vibes immediately- Art team nails it, yet the gameplay devs can't create an interesting PVE experience that isn't just "shoot idiot NPC's over and over". High risk, or high input activities should with a high reward should be brought in to move people away from AFK (and bot friendly) gameplay. At least they're getting somewhere with abyssal PVE.

I dabble in Elite Dangerous, and for the longest time I avoided mining in it due to how terrible it is in EVE.

Turns out core mining is kind of fun. Find the rock with the stuff you want via a pulse scanner, plant explosive charges on weak points, get a satisfying explosion, and then you have little drones fly out and scoop up the stuff.

I know EVE doesn't have actual flying of your ships, but there has to be a better way than just "set mining laser on rock, wait until rock poofs, start on new rock". Hacking used to be just activating a module and waiting, and that got changed.

I think Floppychop meant the mini-game they added to scanning. That's still there and even got some new faction modules and other poo poo later added on top.

I have fond memories of flying the scorpion from way back before the ECM changes that meant that those you jammed could still target you. Paper thin but you could make people rage for weeks about being not being able to shoot poo poo all of a fight.

ECM's golden age is still the most fun I've ever had in this game and I hope that someday I get to dust off all those skillpoints I dumped into it. I actually fit out a Scorpion that I'll bring out the next time I happen to be drunk on a non-full Baltec fleet :shobon:

I think this is it... I think this is how it ends
Rather than try and get the two azbels that were anchoring this afternoon in 3-D online passpi pivoted to an undefended INIT azbel in Catch and formed 800 for the kill, and they are incredibly salty that we didn't defend it, and as such are continuing looking for more undefended targets of opportunity in Catch rather than Delve

i've always wondered why they don't just anchor hundreds of structures all over our space simultaneously, and then i realize it's because they probably can't come up with enough hulls

Good. Unlimited safe travel without using jump clones was loving stupid and it neutered entire tactics revolving around blackops style gameplay. In 2014 before we actively went to war we had kept the economic and military hub in Delve permanently snipped unless you jump cloned. Judging just from forums porn alone this sent a LOT of their players back to the safety of highsec or the relative safety of provi-bloc.

You have to wonder, because a few of the systems they took actually have quite a bit of industry going on.

Good on whichever shark-eating cabal is at the helm of the game for following up on their dislike of heterogeneous ship classes and turning the game into Modules Online. Soon the fit-craft will be reduced to a single lore-friendly alien ship with a plethora of slots for active/passive modules that wholly control the inherent properties and bonuses of a ship. Want a nullified armor nano scouting battleship with some dank mining bonus that looks nothing like what its design entails, that's :ccp: improving the gameplay for you.

Faster than current interceptors? I still can't imagine paying 10x a T2 ships costs for one.
All the normal ones have insta-align times right, so I'd imagine they'll be fine for most.
