So if I'm understanding the ethics of this correctly, racism is bad in general but permissible against fire ants, to the extent that it's socially acceptable to murder them for accepting a contract from your company in good faith.

My school debate experience was that arguing for stupid points or for things you don't actually agree with is pretty fun. It's a good learning tool, too, since it teaches you to try and see things from other points of view. My random guess is Max will win the debate by arguing that extending recess would lead to them getting let out of school five minutes later or something. The other obvious outcome would be he loses the debate but doesn't care, of course.

I think there's supposed to be some sort of a time skip between these two strips. The timeline between the queen's big birthday party (July 1953) and the king's trip to Finland (summer 1952) doesn't seem to follow the real history, but whatever.

This was the first royal visit to Finland in more than a hundred years (if you ignore Karl XI's visit to Åland) and he traveled through almost the whole coastline, so a pretty big deal to the local population.

To be fair, he may be taking the order of a customer at the speaker while getting money/making change for the guy in front of him.

However, I doubt they try to upsell fries anymore. I don't know for sure though because it's been a long time since I went through a drive-through.
