Also 4 floor pans are there the car needs work not for faint of heart but once completed you will have a real head turner. Also have registration in my name car is located in jobs cove cbn. May trade for a driver car that interest me maybe a bike or quad also but asking$2500

Rebuilding old school busses into various degrees of RV and service vehicles has been a thing in the Midwest since at least the 90s and if the build was right, people paid. I knew multiple people back in college who had old school busses. I'm guessing this finally bleed into the overlanding scene from either the cycling or automotive racing worlds.

I keep threating my wife I'll get a van-based minibus as a beater truck. I might actually do it one of these days.

Yeah the Aging Wheels guy has been converting an old bus into a combination car hauler/RV. Looks like a decent project if he ever finishes it.

A coworker of mine spend a chunk of 2019 refitting a former "Emergency Response Vehicle" (think larger-than-normal ambulance) into a van suitable for camping up where they go skiing. After talking to him a bit about it, it blows my goddamned mind what some people spend... I remember a youtube video (since taken down) where a couple had bought a new Sprinter Van, and paid to have it refitted for overlanding, including stuff like marble countertops. I don't remember what the total they posted was but it was well, well into the six figures.

Now #vanlife is a running joke between me and that coworker.

His conversion has worked out well though. His "van", called mERV'in, has the inside mostly where he wants it right now, so the next big thing is to do a 4x4 conversion because it's a bit better for where he goes skiing. They've taken it up to the mountain and it's done alright, but the 4x4 would help when the weather is bad.
