Punch! Punch! Punch!

What's the physical media release you guys most regret missing out on?

For me it's Severin's LE of Combat Shock. I was out of the movie game for a few months when this was released, and by the time I even knew about it it was long gone. Limited to 2,000. It even comes with a piece of a 35mm film print. :( And it's still the only release of the film on Blu-ray.

I probably check to see on a weekly basis if that Resident Evil 4K set is ever coming back.

Now on the opposite end, I cherish my Blus of Freaked, Dead Alive and now Miami Connection .Also my official Season 3 Sifl and Olly DVD. :getin:

I missed out on Arrow's 13 disc Battles Without Honor or Humanity set. That's the one I regret not getting. It goes for $800 now. The other titles mentioned above, minus the UHD for The Neon Demon, I have, but it really hurts not to have that Yakuza Papers set. I know you can get them separately now, but I want that set, man. My wife would murder me if I dropped that amount of money on it, so I'm hoping for a lottery win or huge promotion say work to justify getting it. Otherwise, I'll just deal with that hole in my collection.

Just picked up the sexy UHD steelbooks for Psycho and The Birds from Best Buy. I assume there will be matching discs for Rear Window and Vertigo in the next few months.

Oh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. That's like a holy grail. Sifl and Olly is one of my all time favorite shows. I have a bootleg set with the whole series but whoever made it cheaped out and out the third season on one disc so it's horribly compressed and looks and sounds like absolute poo poo. I never bothered to watch those episodes. The first two seasons are good quality. They're obviously from VHS tapings from television but they're the best quality that those could be so I'm fine with it considering there's 0% chance of that ever getting an official release. And if by some miracle it did they'd half to edit out half the songs.

I love OGF but my friend hates that movie because 1. she's Thai and hates how her culture is portrayed, and 2. she worked on it. In fact, if you watch the doc about the making of it, she's in parts of it. She, for the most part, does not have nice things to say about Refn.

I'm frustrated that Showgirls 4k UHD and Basic Instinct 4k UHD haven't been US releases, and were limited editions.

Also all these tiny European boutique labels doing interesting 4k UHD releases of Possession that sell out in 60 seconds also pisses me off.

that Possession 4K was the one I did regret missing. I ended up buying that gorgeous blu-ray set though with all the goodies and by all accounts the transfer isnt too different besides the resolution uptick and coloring.

checking the blu-ray.com forums this was posted back in april

From JonathanK March 12th

"Some good news for Zulawski fans... Reached out to MV for an update and they confirmed that after taking some time off since Zulawski's passing, they have now begun working on the Polish Trilogy and are also preparing a 4K edition of Possession with possibility of a "disc upgrade program" in place for those who have purchased the original Limited Edition. When asked if they would continue their Limited Edition trend with the Polish Trilogy I did not get a straight answer but was told "we are weighing all options at this point, it would either come as a boxset or individual releases". Apparently they are sitting on ton of extras recorded with Zulawski while he was still alive.

so who knows. maybe we might get a UHD after all.

For me, Shout waffles between "Oh this is $15 now? I'll grab it next week," only for it to double in price when I'm ready to buy it, and "This is now out of print and will remain so for at least a year."

I shoulda bought Invasion of the Bee Girls and The Brain That Wouldn't Die when they were, like, $14, and now they're both OOP.
