Why does it look like a loving supercar, is it one of those 150mph obamabuses? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNixDlRoMvA You know what I think is a really good thing in a vehicle? When you can't tell which direction it's likely to start moving in. Also good of them to put the paup shin intake feed blades so you just get sliced up and fed through the grinder rather than damaging the suspension. I thought it was like a patriotic dazzle camo that was messing with my eyes, but nope, it really is that shape. How have they manage to make it look like it's been in a terrible accident before it's maiden voyage? Is that level of window tint legal? Why don't they want you to see in?

I wonder sometimes how AI vehicles are going to interact with highly pedestrianized areas. Because we already had that conflict with the advent of motor vehicles, it led (in the US) to making the road literally legally reserved for vehicles. The UK is a bit more fluid about it but there is going to be some hilarious liability issues when you have to automate the emergency stopping procedure. I can only imagine there is a spectrum of possible outcomes ranging from "vehicles literally incapable of stopping reliably, vehicle space aggressively segregated from pedestrians to overcome this" through "vehicles and pedestrians can intermingle but people keep getting flattened by bad code or mechanical failures" all the way to "vehicles are so good at stopping people eventually just start walking in front of them because gently caress you robot you aren't allowed to run me over"

An automatic car will flatten a lollipop man and it'll be in the news for a day or two and that's about as far as it'll go in the public hivemind.

Why would you cover something that is experimental and fast with sharp edges? It should be an egg to at least give the people at the first bus stop it plows into a chance. Oh wait, its to remove people who are so poor they need to take the bus. Got it.

It looks like it has a layer of armour. I suppose the thinking is to protect those inside the bus.

It looks terrible from an aerodynamic perspective, there's a reason road cars are all smooth. How fast do they think this bus will be going? Will they need a lot of downforce? seems inefficient. e: It's one of these: https://aurrigo.com/autoshuttle/ Butternubs fucked around with this message at 09:02 on May 28, 2021 |

It's supposed to look unique, I guess. The design doesn't look very cost effective, though - it looks like they'd need to replace huge sections of the exterior every time it was in a collision.

Lady Demelza posted:Is this Kent? A friend of mine turned up for his first jab earlier in the week and they couldn't find him in the system. They sent him home because they didn't have spares. He wasn't the first person to turn up with a booking that hadn't gone through. And he had the same problem trying to rebook, because the website recognised he'd already made an appointment, and wouldn't let him start again. It's a weird glitch and I wonder if it's affecting the same centre. Oh lord, that's not very reassuring. I called 119, and the call journey is incredibly confusing, but eventually got through to a chap who told me that he only deals with enquiries, and can't access any booking information. He advised I redial, and select the options I already selected when I called in the first place. When I explained I'd already done what he'd said he was just like 'idk it's confusing isn't it, maybe you'll get through to someone else next time.' Don't know what to do Tbh, it's a 2hr round trip which I really don't wanna do if they're not gonna stab me in the arm half way through.

in belfast they have purple things that look like trams but are buses driven by people i heard they got them second hand off liverpool they have fewer seats than real buses and offentimes get stuck on corners causing traffic jams but it's a much less expensive way to get that actual-city-with-a-real-tram-system look than they came up with in edinburgh crispix fucked around with this message at 10:49 on May 28, 2021 |
