I will not shut up about the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I talk about them all the time and work them into every conversation I have. I built a shrine in my room for the yellow one who died because sadly no one noticed because she died around 9/11. Wanna see it?

OK hit me with something.

I’m not much of a drinker, but Hawaii has some really good rum (this one is quite good https://rumratings.com/brands/478-koloa-dark) . I understand some whiskeys are good from the US. Aviation gin is pretty good, or at least was (I honestly don’t know after their ownership changed, as I understand it).

And might be cheating a bit, but I’m given to understand that microbreweries here can be pretty great. I hate beer though, so gotta take people at their word on that one.

Before Covid times, when I visited friends abroad, I'd bring a set of Svenska Nubbar (basically a mixed set of schnapps) and we'd drink them together. I'd let my friend pick the bottle and I'd translate the name and ingredients - except I didn't know the English name for "malört" so I'd tell them the literal translation, "malicious herb". It always seemed accurate enough.

It's wormwood.

At least some of that tedancy for Hollywood to cast 20-somethings as teens in TV is the desire for a show to have like 5+ seasons. If you cast legit 16 year olds or whatever they may end up looking quite different and noticeably older in a few seasons and unless you plan to have your show age with the cast that's something you probably want to avoid. A 25 year old on the other hand doesn't change very much in five years.

Yeah but Josh Brolin actually was 17 when he made Goonies. I feel like I don't look that old at 34.

Kentucky Gentleman was my go to for a while, (not on purpose, the owner of the bar was using it to refill all the bourbon and whiskey bottes- it was a classy place) it is awful, and the hangover is exquisite.

To give a "Kentucky Gentleman" is to cradle someone's naked scrotum in one's palm, but in a casual, non-sexual way.

An Australian Army vet mate of mine posted something similar from a US Army dude, but the bit of paper said something like "People say the Army is the dumbest of the services..." The subtle thing was though that you could see the name tag and US Army tag on his uniform was backwards, so he'd clearly filmed it with mirror setting on his camera turned on... which meant he'd written the note mirrored. Dude is one smart mother-fucker.

The joke is that Kentucky’s senators, Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul, are formally recognized in Congress as “the gentleman from Kentucky”.

Both men are more abhorrent than even bottom‐shelf liquor.
