Ninety second response time on those firefighters (perhaps less, how long did it take for someone to look out of the window?), and they get a funny story out of it to boot. Much self back-patting would have been had.

I think fire delivery is a preferred method of fire department response if you are hauling a load of simple combustibles that catch fire.

- One foot on the outside of the wheeled steps - Other foot on the crane truck - Not tied off anywhere - About nine feet off the ground - Manhandling a cylinder from said crane truck that broke off, trying to get it onto the forks visible in the picture Our maintenance crew is definitely a bunch of "I've been doing this for years, I know what I'm doing, I don't need no safety regulations."

Personal OSHA for me today. One of the building’s we maintain the fire protection in had a sprinkler head go off. Turns out the sprinkler was in a garage where a person had closed the garage door and left the car running for hours. Somehow no CO detectors in the building went off, but luckily the garage got hot enough that it activated a single sprinkler which signaled the fire dept to show up. This was at a 20 unit condo building, all adjoining interior hallways. The FD recorded over 1000 ppm of CO on the third floor. Amazingly the building was almost completely empty and no one was hurt. Though it was an intense hour as the FD went room to room looking for any casualties. It took 2 hours of ventilation with FD fans before they could get the PPM down to safe levels.

Presumably, whichever company is in charge of testing the CO sensors is going to have some tough questions to answer.

A good friend of mine died in 2019 from that. He and his family were driving when a tree fell and he turned the car in such a way that his wife and two young kids walked away and he was killed.
