You don't fire people without HR involved. And yeah, most HR is salaried, so they'll be pissed at the 2 hours of paperwork on a weekend, but that's part of the gig.

Do we think that HR had to drive into the office to do this, possibly missing out on a weekend BBQ, and thus Tony is an evil and demanding boss?

One time a guy stole some downhill skis out of my jeep and I was so mad I punched a mailbox. I'm against crime, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
I watched the show this morning and it was great. Seeing all those fans had more of an emotional impact on me than I expected. I really hope vaccines continue to work and more people get vaccinated so we can eventually move on from the pandemic.

Probably groups of 5 given the presence of the Joker entrant that the tag didn’t have.

Brodie / Mox might be my favorite Mox defense

the DDT through the walkway and then dragging him out to choke him like a rabid bear was an amazing visual

Brodie lost a few big ones in AEW but always looked like an absolute monster in defeat

I still in my wild mark brain think they might hotshot the title to OC in a fluke win to leave the crowd white hot. Like, PAC and Kenny have each other out and OC just makes an unexpected cover. And then he loses it back to Kenny on Friday through some cheating and/or Good Bros fuckery. It would show the first breaks in Kenny’s armor, and still allow the fans to get their champ. Kinda like an Attitude Era Foley title run or something.

Much like Miro, it never felt like Brodie lost as much as he was temporarily contained.

I dunno what people think, just stating that any real company won't fire people without HR, since someone brought it up.

But you can also fire people remotely pretty easily.

Zoom. E-docs. A robust HR software solution. And people are around for the DoN weekend.

I'm going to venture a guess that on Double Or Nothing weekend, while hosting their first two full capacity shows in fourteen months with all the logistical and support issues that raises, AEW probably has a few of their back office people available.

You have more fun as a follower. But you make more money as a leader.

One thing I was wondering recently. Who, if anyone, from AEW is going to be their first star to try to leverage their success for a Hollywood career like Rock, Bautista and Cena.

I don’t think it’ll be Mox beyond some small projects like he’s done already, and I don’t know if Omega has the interest or is the right kind of type for it. I think Cody will try but I’m not sure he‘ll do anything bigger than the TV work he’s done.

In the long run, maybe Hangman or even OC? Jungle Boy potentially if he improves his acting ability and cuts his hair as he’s got the family background, but his dad was never an A-lister.

Dynamite on late Fridays really isn't a good time when you have to work on a saturday and are being overrun by people looking for suits for their weddings or graduations now that everything's being opened back up. Did fall asleep for a bit during the Cody stuff, but woke up just in time to be confused by what was clearly Tuesday night Dark commentary. Wasn't really the best show as far as wrestling goes, but I really enjoyed all the little things, be it said Dark commentary, the torn contract blowing in the wind, Uno's hot tag, Sting in a Sting mask, Flanders, and Shida's beautiful dress.

Also gotta say I continue to be amazed how much of an unrepentant shill Colt Cabana was on the post-show, wouldn't mind seeing him as a regular on the post show. Very cool of him mentioning Bononi's Gofundme as well.

It absolutely will be Cody. Once his reality show is 3 seasons in, he will try to get a role as some American hero in a straight-to-dvd movie.

I voted for Andrade as Joker in the battle royal, but in hindsight I have to figure that if Tall Paul is on commentary he's in the match, right?

I think Miro has the most obvious combo of charisma/distinct look/acting ability, and I'm pretty sure he's already got some Hollywood connections

I am convinced that Eddie Kingston could pretty easily have an actual acting career if he wanted to, albeit in more bit/supporting roles

Jade has the "look at her, we have to put her in something" factor

The Hollywood Hunk Ryan Nemeth is already a breakout film and TV star

I do not doubt that Cody will try, I just don’t think he’ll be successful beyond TV work like that show he’s doing with Stephen Amell or straight to vod stuff. But lots of wrestlers have some action movies at that level. I’m wondering if anyone will become an actual Hollywood draw.

Pillbug
a little late but I want to throw my support in for emf and the other poster saying shida has been underutilized as champ. I agree completely. I think she's lost some of her popularity with the crowds and that's no fault of her own but of the way they haven't been booking her in longer storylines or even on shows for long periods of time. she definitely got done a bit dirty I find and I feel bad that she didn't get a better run.

the good news is, is she's such a fantastic wrestler and great personality that they could easily heat her up again if they wanted. maybe if they do something with the tag division and have her and statlander or conti go on a run. I hope she gets a better run with the women's title some time in the future though (if she loses to britt on sunday). she deserved better imo.

the janela/sonny thing.. I don't mind the slowburn of them not immediately breaking up after what janela did but I was kinda annoyed that commentary didn't mention anything at all about it. I found it very strange that they just ignored sonny being out there and not touching on it at all. even if it was just a quick little aside, anything. unless they did mention it, maybe during pip? and I missed it? I dunno.
