It is a very vocal minority of people in the U.K., and very very few of them are LGBT+ that’s the bloody point. They have gaslit everyone into thinking they are more powerful and important than they are by using Tory newspapers like the Times and the spectator and using bot farms on Facebook and Twitter. The whole POINT of this is the Tory section 28 ideology. In 2021 you got to be a very dense LGB person not to know they are using the T to attack us all. One of the ways they are doing this is that there is an ongoing effort to convince people that the L G and B in the U.K. are on the side of the gender cranks and people perpetuating this myth is doing their work for them. Edit: tl;dr. The response to “don’t be homophobic” as a straight Cis person is not to call someone a transphobe because they are English as a get out clause. Because guess what kids! And yeah, the mask-off Magdalen Berns segment of the population is exceptionally small, but they would wield far less influence if there weren't a sizable portion of the population that are either silently nodding along and coaching their words or simply more willing to listen to them than us, even if the press or parliament were really very keen on letting us do so. And that sort of influence, which been used to detail GRA reform and push through poo poo like Bell v Tavistock, is a far better metric than just numbers. Frankly, there's a lot more to it than "they're using the T to get to the LGB" which although frequently true is also frequently telling of motivation and hard-won experience that you will never have has taught me that if not for a subsequent threat to themselves, a lot more people than just LEYF Party members and Cookie Monster Allies would happily throw us under the next available bus.
