this could go in the epstein thread ig uess or maybe the cyberdystopia one but remember when the US and israel accidentally released to the wider Internet their natanz malware anyway this wiki article has me worried about the integrity of my posts https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equation_Group quote:the platform had the "unprecedented" ability to infect and be transmitted through the hard drive firmware of several major hard drive manufacturers, and create and use hidden disk areas and virtual disk systems for its purposes, a feat which would require access to the manufacturer's source code to achieve,[10]:16–18 and that the tool was designed for surgical precision, going so far as to exclude specific countries by IP and allow targeting of specific usernames on discussion forums.[10]:23–26 i have been using the tools in the OP to defend myself against cyberGladio but i need to know more. if you work for the NSA, please DM me. thank you

poo poo i forgot about this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WannaCry_ransomware_attack thanks NSAquote:One of the largest agencies struck by the attack was the National Health Service hospitals in England and Scotland,[103][104] and up to 70,000 devices – including computers, MRI scanners, blood-storage refrigerators and theatre equipment – may have been affected.[105] On 12 May, some NHS services had to turn away non-critical emergencies, and some ambulances were diverted.[106][107] In 2016, thousands of computers in 42 separate NHS trusts in England were reported to be still running Windows XP.[39] In 2018 a report by Members of Parliament concluded that all 200 NHS hospitals or other organizations checked in the wake of the WannaCry attack still failed cybersecurity checks.

cybersecurity is super important but the topic itself causes my eyes to glaze over after reading more than a few sentences about it

cybersecurity is best left to nerds who enjoy that sort of thing. unfortunately, they are just as terrible at it as everyone else.

gimme the GOD drat candy posted:cybersecurity is best left to nerds who enjoy that sort of thing. unfortunately, they are just as terrible at it as everyone else. Lol, I've seen a lot of SQL injection vulnerabilities in code banged out by goobers, but I'd bet the four, almost five dollars in my wallet that these data ransoming attacks are successful because some idiot wielding an MBA got rid of a backup process considered bare minimum since the 70s. Then cited it as a cost savings a paid themselves a big ol' bonus and got out before it blew up in their dumb face. Possibly collecting a neato six sigma award in the process, because they're just like a ninja, these captains of industry.
