What does tankie even mean anymore? It used to be "Stalinist" or something, but now it just seems to refer to any socialist who is not an anarchist?

It is carrying 25 tonnes of nitric acid, sodium hydroxide, and other chemicals. Along with 28 containers of raw materials used to make plastic bags. Plus 300 tons of oil in it's fuel tanks. No oil thus far, but the beaches are awash with plastic pellets and chemicals. So the most recent China in Africa podcast has an interview on a Chinese guy who does tracking on Chinese vaccine. <- This tracking page is really good. I wish Covax has something similar. I will post the interesting bits I heard from this podcast * China has sold 700+ million doses covid vaccines and has delivered 250+ million doses. Price ranging from $10-$40, which is higher than the Covax price. * 22 mil doses delivered are donations (9%) * out of the sold vaccines 2/3 are Sinovac, 1/4 are Sinopharm, the rest CanSino * out of the donations more than 80% are Sinopharm (probably because it got approved by WHO 1 month sooner than Sinovax and Sinopharm is more of a SOE?) China has promised 10 mil donation to Covax but has not delivered them yet. This tells me Covax is a western-led program and China is doing minimum expected. Covax has so far delivered 72 mil doses, and has pretty much stopped, because most of the vaccines were Indian made AZ vaccines but India has stopped vaccine export and is scrambling her own mega third wave. China has been able to scaled up vaccine production. I don't have the number handy but China probably has produced twice as many Covid vaccine as India. The Covax program is essentially the western countries paying money to India private vaccine pharma to produce vaccines, and distribute to the poor countries and get credit for the good will. And the price is cheap $3-5 dollars per doses when the fancy Pfizer/Moderna vaccine has not delivered any doses to Covax. They have been selling the mRNA vaccines to the developed countries who can afford them. Now, why would the Indian make low ball $5 vaccines for Covax when China has been selling their vaccine for $10-40 per doses? They sure got a sucker deal. Now that Covax has stopped, and USA still hasn't delivered any vaccine, despite what Biden promised. All the poor countries have to pretty much turn to China directly. If Bangladesh, India's only few friendly neighbor, has to turn to China, that means China is going to be able to use vaccine diplomacy to knock open a lot of doors to countries traditionally align to China's competitors. The China in Africa podcast has a very pro-Global South stand, it's worth a listen.

for a somewhat more serious answer the liberals have been getting hammered on the comically high export rate for the vaccine as south korea doesnt appear to be getting any tangible benefit for making all these vaccines and no one even knows theyre doing it so theyre not getting a propaganda benefit either the biden summit was intended to mollify these concerns but it hasnt actually helped at all because as i have noted here the summit agreements were a mix of poo poo no one cared about and nonbinding promises on bidens part that no non idiot could possibly be expecting him to actually follow through on
