I never went back for the DLCs but the main critical path story mission is such a breezy delight. When you get into the ashtray maze (do not spoil), set up your recording software and turn your headphones ALL THE WAY UP. It is a sublime videogame sequence.

Picked up Control (Ultimate Edition with all the DLC included) on a Steam sale a few months ago and promptly dumped 65 hours into it, and I cannot say enough good things about that game. It's like The Matrix merged with Twin Peaks.

not caring here posted:My key offroading experiences was actually just grabbing whatever busted shitbox old hoopty and just giving it the business on relatively hard packed dirt tracks. Never really liked digging vehicles out, closest I ever came was a baja bug on the beach with tires wide enough you could almost guarantee to never bog. I did run Bombers once at the dirt track outside Gate 2 of Fort Gordon once, and that was fun as poo poo and about as much dirt as I care to eat. (Is that track still even there?)

The earlier you find the Hummer, the more magic its tires seem, but as crazy they are on hard surfaces while still being good in dirt and mud, the MS1s are actually an upgrade over them. Mud tires have poo poo traction on regular roads, but even in the worst icy conditions, you're still fine with AWD and watch that you don't careen off the road. Meanwhile, MS1s are an extra 50% better on dirt, and 33% better in mud, and the really important thing is that the mud-performance applies to snow as well. I am guessing the dust storm is their version of closing in the map for the inevitable battle royale match type but the tornado going through downtown Dubai(?) was pretty cool.

What makes BF V so disappointing is that BF4 had a gently caress load of launch issues but was incredibly fun to play but V just couldn't pull it off for whatever reason. Which sucks because I was really looking forward to a current gen WWII BF game  So I have high hopes for this one. AFAIK 5's problems were in part because a bunch of experienced people from DICE jumped ship, so it wasn't just normal  shipping an MVP game and fixing the jank after, but they lost all the people who knew how to set up at least a good foundation to fix jank later and actually address problems. Frostbite has also historically suffered from extreme in-house engine disease, so losing the small group of people with the tribal knowledge to work around its bullshit exacerbated the problem.Maybe that's since improved since EA wanted Frostbite to be a better general-purpose engine they could use throughout the company and hired talented-enough people to un-gently caress it from whatever state it was in when they rolled out Anthem.
