Yes. It's also a liability trap. The fire marshall should be shuffling people to the evacuation point until it becomes clear that it's a false alarm.

There's 2 tones to most building alarms.

The 1st alarm is the "Hey something is probably wrong, all Marshalls check in" the 2nd is "HOLY gently caress START loving RUNNING NOW NOW NOW"

Back in the day I used to do Pokie payouts, and the drones would just straight up not loving move for the 1st alarm.
One day we had an actual fire in an event room when I wasn't working and the 2nd alarm went off. Found out later that attendants had to literally strong arm a couple of punters off 'their' machines because they were worried their credits would be stolen (Duty Manager eventually got the smart idea to just turn the loving things off)

If you have fire wardens yeah, because its probably just a drill.

If its a drill leave and go next door and get a coffee.

If its real take all your stuff and go get lunch

Check in with your fire warden on the way out so your checked off and not considered inside and need rescue/dead.

No joke, a mate of mine's local KFC used to gently caress up orders so much he had prefilled forms to email to their head office to complain - which would more often than not result in him getting a whole stack of vouchers.

We used to heap poo poo on him for it, but he was effectively eating for free there for a while - but he had to endure the free meals being wrong lol

Scummo will have put it here because A: it's newsworthy and B: he thinks we can un-gently caress the mess if there's a breach, and C: It's something else he can blame on Dan Andrews if it goes wrong.

The leading theory is the family that popped up to NSW tracked it back with them rather than it starting here.

It still doesn't explain how it entered Australia. It's never been detected here prior to this at all. Somehow, it escaped detection in hotel quarantine. Contact tracing is going to be a nightmare.
