I wonder why the J Borg actress is in the big group photos but not any of the smaller ones when she's in every episode. Also from the other characters in the smaller group photos I would guess they are probably recurring.

Power Rangers is never going to die off. If anything, Disney will buy it back for the catalogue and they'll do their own nostalgia season because even the Mighty Ducks got one and now they're doing like, iCarly (Disney also tried Lizzie McGuire but it fell off because of the pandemic)

The Lizzie McGuire reboot wasn't so much killed because of the pandemic, but because the showrunner and Duff had the crazy idea that a woman in her 30s may have different experiences than a 14 year old girl. Duff was begging them to either let them off the reins or move it to Hulu (home of Love, Victor, as god forbid teens learn that the gays exist from D+) but the mouse just canned it altogether.

I don't know a lot about Disney Channel after 1994 or so when it stopped being an ad-free premium network, but their cable network people basically have a tradition now of only letting a show reach 2-3 seasons in length before it's taken behind the shed. Phineas and Ferb got a fourth season because fan demand was so strong, but long running kids shows are not much of a thing there anymore. If you ask me to play "where does Power Rangers and it's huge episode archive land next" I would hesitantly place my bet on Peacock. Hasbro already has their Transformers animated stuff on Netflix and I assume wants two streaming services to play off each other, but Universal also has the Transformers movie license and giving the Comcast/NBC/Universal hydra the PR license might actually be useful for the film franchise they want so bad.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "play off of each other" though and how that would financially benefit Hasbro given that it'd seem like the opposite since it would more likely mean eyes on one or the other property rather than having both available unless you're implying some hedged bet scenario.

I disagree but only a little I absolutely think the movie and resulting tie in series will still be based on MMPR, just because Hasbro's whole thing is knowing how nostalgia works and how to exploit it. They've been doing it for round about 15 years straight now. The rest is accurate. The normal show will continue as its thing while the movie and resulting teen series will be doing whatever. One thing that plays heavily in Hasbro's favor is that 2017 Movie, while using the characters, kind of, of MMPR, did not use the iconography. So they won't be visually retreading the same ground as it and will probably use that as a selling point. Here are these characters you like, but big screen and more faithful! Like Bumblebee, effectively. I really hope they learn from Bumblebee.

They should use the iconography next time but with their own characters. Really I don't think the audience cares if it is Jason Trini Zack Billy Kimberly Tommy. The important thing is the suits and zords and at least one of the villains being familiar, probably go right to Zedd.

No idea where to post this question, and don't know if it would be welcome on the power rangers reddit. I am thinking of downsizing my collection and selling some off my toys that I've collected over the years, but have no idea what to price them at. Looking on eBay gives me some ideas of what people think they sell for but I have no idea how realistic those prices are. Anyone have a good idea what ballpark I should be looking at for each item or where to find out? Namely, I would be selling my legacy white tigerzord, thunder megazord, black and gold megazord, regular megazord, dragonzord, and power sword.

I listen to this podcast Teenagers with Attitude which is very rambly but I've grown to really like the hosts. Anyway on weeks where they couldn't record their editor makes a special episode which is a dramatic reading of a Power Rangers fanfiction they found. They just got to part 3 last week. Every typo and grammatical error is kept fully intact in his reading, with added bgm and sound effects. Look for episodes bonus 47, bonus 48, and bonus 49. They're great. There is a sudden turn in the end of the first one that you will not see coming.
