Since the Lada is basically a Fiat with thicker sheet metal, does that mean the Lada has a stiffer chassis by default?

Either way, that thing is awesome.

That’s a fair assumption to make, but if anyone could gently caress it up, Lada could.

And I love how honest Dacias are, it's a car that does car stuff that you can buy new with warranty for not much money.

The seating and steering column changes Mazda made to the ND2 made a huge difference for me. Only stock Miata I fit in is the ND2.

I was just about able to drive an NA, but my eyeline was pretty much through the windshield frame. It was like driving a tank, trying to scoot up in the seat far enough to see above the windshield but still manipulate the controls. I also had to attempt to kneecap myself every time I needed first gear.

Still a blasty-blast, but not a thing I can own, sadly.

If you really really want to own a Miata but can't fit due to height it's very easy to cut the floor out and weld in a drop pan.

Some people find it sufficient to pull some of the padding from the seat cushion.

The added height of the convertible top and reclining the seat just a smidge makes it work, but I'd have to drop the floor pan if I ever wanted to race it because of the helmet. I'm 5'8" which makes my situation hilarious.

I am around 6'2" but I am wispy and have skinny legs so I fit pretty good in my NA. Could use a little more room between the steering wheel and my clutch foot/knee, but oh well.

I'm 5'8" and I fit in my NC perfectly, well below the top of the windshield.

NA is a no-go, NB is better, NC is pretty OK, and ND is back to "10 pounds of poo poo in a 5-pound bag." Especially the RF.

Also same, as far as eyeline. And my knees were tucked between the dash and steering wheel. On the ND, I'm looking *over* the top of the windshield.
I actually, successfully, drove an NB at a Mazda driving event.

I'm 6' 2", and pretty evenly split between "too much legs" and "too much torso"

I hit my head getting into an FB every loving time I drove my dad's. FD was comical with a helmet. They're great if you're 5'6."

I got myself to fit into a Miata but it wasn't worth it (fixed bucket with no adjustment. Wanted helmet clearance). I wonder if the BRZ fits a bit better for me but not like I'd buy one in the next 15 years anyway.

I helped a friend of mine move this weekend, as part of the move we had to relocate her mother's Miata to another garage. I know it's an NA or an NB (I think NB, I don't think it had popup headlights), but it is CLEAN. Under 90,000 miles, never driven super hard. Under the hood was super clean, and she also had the hard top for it. It had sat for a long time so we had to fiddle with jump starting it to get it moving, but once it was going it seemed to be fine. I rode shotgun to where it was going to be stored, telling my friend "your mom is not allowed to sell this without asking me if I want to buy it first." I did try to make it clear that the car definitely had value, especially with the hard top. The mother is apparently debating getting a newer one with the power retractable hard top.

I don't even LIKE Miata's much, but that one is just in such good shape. Fun experience being in one for the first time though, at a stoplight seated normally with the top down, we couldn't see the light without leaning forward or sitting up in the seat to see over the windshield frame. I'm ~5'8", I think I fit in just fine but it felt claustrophobic around the shoulders. Could definitely see the appeal.

I'm 5'8" with rear seat mounts removed and a fixed bucket as low as it can go in a NB. I want more headroom since my helmet bounces off the cage padding, but a floor cut is a points mod with NASA.

Oh, I had to duck a bit getting in, and also on my FC, but once in, I'm fine (until a whoop-de-do, where I have to remember to tilt my head to the side a bit to avoid hitting the sunroof well... Both cars have/had sunroofs, removing about 3/4" from the headroom.)

edit: I'm going to try out a Fiero seat, as they are apparently among the lowest seats you can get, and I have a supply handy via a friend.

The interior color options of the day were pretty much the same as they are now. It's not really fair to compare the 'car industry' to a low production hand built car.

I dunno, when I was a kid we had a base-model HQ Kingswood station wagon, and its interior was one hundred percent burgundy vinyl.

I disagree. My International is sage green and the Galaxie is turquoise. I haven't seen those colors at all lately. Our modern cars are black and tan. And even the tan seems rare now.
