Monster Hunter Stories 2 is coming out July 9 and will probably be good. The original one on 3ds was technically impressive and had solid animal friend gameplay.

My collection shelves are an unholy mishmash of M.U.S.C.L.E. guys, miscellaneous monster and creature toys of various vintage, indie game collectibles and ugly antique bric a brac. And some Amiibos. I think that monoculture collections of Funco Pops display like total garbage though.

It's a pretty bog standard first person walking sim with a bit of puzzle solving and combat now and again but the real draw is that it's utterly horrible and not afraid of showing terrible things happening to your character. wait so... is there a ~reasonable~ way to play those monster rancher ports if you live in NA? or does it involve hacking or some complicated use of an alternate account? or is it as simple as vpn to japan to dl?

Trickiest part is making a Japanese account on Nintendo's website. Once you have that you just plug it into your Switch as another profile and you'll automatically be directed to the Japanese eShop when you use it. No VPN required. You'll need to go to play-asia or another similar site to buy Japanese eShop credit though. On the 3DS you used to be able to use an American credit card no problem, but on Switch foreign credit cards and PayPal accounts are locked down.

The creature design of A Robot Named Fight is definitely in Cronenberg territory. But for a genuinely scary game? Maybe try Subnautica, people seem to say it gets to them at times. Otherwise for me it's Pikmin 3, which I had to put down, but that's more stress from losing the Pikmin.

I am starting to shift my AA and indie purchases from Switch to PS4/PS5 and it is kind of bumming me out. But the Switch is starting to really show its age on even things like Bloodstained, Hat in Time, Pillars of Eternity and countless others. A Switch Pro cannot come soon enough. I will always buy and enjoy Nintendo games, but it being the primary console of choice for everything else is starting to fade away.
