The cowboy stuff, like the stuff that makes mother's grey hairs, is usually "present day", since the postwar ones swap out the Model Ts for Jeeps. Williams' ranch hand days were in Arkansas and Oklahoma. The specifics of the I.W. Lane case pretty much takes Oklahoma out of the running.
