I usually think of teles as being for music I’m not really that into but hey, Joe Strummer played one

Here’s a somewhat interesting page about his tele, written by a former roadie: https://thebaker77.wordpress.com/2019/11/17/the-only-guitar-that-mattered-joe-strummer-fender-telecaster-the-clash/

E- oh whoops I thought this was the guitar thread but I’ll let it stand, considering my ignorance about teles

That's still cool as beans, though! I loved the Clash and I got Global A-Go-Go (the second record Strummer did with The Mescaleros) gifted to me for my 16th birthday, so that's a welcome lil' bit of history.

all three mescaleros records are wall-to-wall fantastic - the first one, rock art and the x-ray style, is my favorite, but they're all great

now if only I could find a vinyl copy of GAGG that didn't cost north of a hundo

I wish I could remember which goon made the comparison, but someone compared humbuckers to an angry muscle guy and the tele pickups to a thin meth-hopped dude with a stilleto. Both are aggresive, just in different ways.

If anyone knows, please link. I always think about it when I see P90's.

And if you are lucky enough to have or hear somebody aggressively play a 12-string, Jangle can be really powerful and painful. In a GREAT way.

That's not what gaslighting means you hyperbolic dipshit.
I say this as a fan of Ola Englund... it's a shame Solar guitars only come with the gigantic OLA ENGLUND logo on the 12th fret and that's it.

The guy is really killing it with some of those designs but those guitars would look 1000x better with just regular dot inlays instead of Ola's personal name logo thing he used for like a decade stamped right into the middle of the neck.

i think it's a cool design but i get what you mean. when they came out with the bolt on design I was hoping the 7 string would be a baritone with the evertune and what-no but even still i was tempted to buy it

Andre Huang has now released an album inspired by Adventure Time as part of his space arc. He’s been talking to a time crystal with a Shiba face as well.

The album is called “Ooo”.

I mean it’s 20 minutes long and has 19 songs so it seems like a gimmicky way to dump the contents of his IDEAS FOR SONGS folder more than anything.

Or alternatively if I’m being cynical- 30 second long jingles means maximum tik tok-ability

The short song format can work really well - Tierra Whack's Whack World is 15 one minute songs and is really solid.

That last one doesn’t work well in video form. RRR put out several comps where the record is made up of concentric locked grooves, not a spiral. It’s a different act for each groove.

There are several songs on that record that probably make my list. "Doin Laundry" by Nerf Herder is one of em, and "Hearts Frozen Soil Sod Once More By The Spring Of Rage, Despair, And Hopelessness" by AFI would be another. Several more that aren't immediately springing to mind as well I'm sure. Record's a drat masterpiece.

I think it's probably a sketch dump, but I don't really understand it in the context of his space adventure arc. He says it's meant to be loose and fun music that is intentionally a bit goofy. But he says this from his space-ship in full-on custom astronaut wear, so it's a bit confusing in general. I like it, but I am still lost in the lore here.
