Multiple "insiders" are either saying or strongly implying that Master Chief is going to be one of two new Super Smash Bros. characters revealed today.

Also a new Metroid game.

Somehow the latter seems more unlikely.

Forza Motorsport is the game that made Gran Turismo look second rate and focuses on race tracks from around the globe and progressing through various racing events.

Forza Horizon is open world arcade-y fun, whereas Forza Motorsport is basically the Xbox version of Gran Turismo with racing on actual circuits (both fictional and real) and more realistic physics.

Horizon is the spiritual successor to the Test Drive Unlimited games from way back, where you just cruise around buying cars and houses and doing races.

Motorsport is more like a Gran Turismo game, aimed more towards sim racers

They're making a new Test Drive Unlimited, by the way. It's been announced but no details have been revealed about location or anything.

Edit: Also, Horizon kinda feels like an open world spiritual successor to Project Gotham Racing as well, imo.

I picked up a Monoprice USB C cable, and unless this is a placebo effect the controller is noticeably more responsive in wired mode. I've gone back and forth between wireless and the cable and wired feels smoother each time. It's surprisingly difficult to find information about this but this article seems to say that wired mode polls and transmits constantly instead of at intervals.

Of course dealing with a cord is a trade-off, but I have lots of retro systems hooked up so I don't mind it at all.

Pretty disappointed they chose to keep 4K in the performance mode, all that means is the game graphics are going to get turned down much lower to get the FPS to 60 which is always the worst option.

I wouldn't make that assumption yet. There have been a few AAA next-gen games released with 4K/60fps or even 60fps/ray-tracing modes where there's virtually no difference between that performance option, and the fidelity mode.

Yeah the Forza Horizon games are the best because they are doing dumb poo poo in cars. You don't even really have to do races, just drive around and jump off stuff and fly through speed detectors and powerslide a hotted up Ford Escort through a small village and inexplicably be able to drive a Lambo cross country etc. etc.

Fh4 is an overwhelming game to try and jump into. There's like 4 menus before you even get to your car and it really just needs a "shut up and drive" mode that doesn't harass you with all the seasonal and event poo poo. It's a huge turn off to the best way to play the game.

They get scuffed, crumpled and dinged but they don't, like explode or send showers of parts around. Your car is always driveable and a button can undamage it

There are few gaming joys greater than seeing how far you can get your bonus meter up by launching yourself into the wild. The Forza Horizon series is so good that it alone is a valid reason to get into the Xbox ecosystem. I�m gonna fire up the old Fast & Furious demo/expansion they made thanks to this thread. Have Ludacris give some me tips on the next hot street race.

The Sable demo is out and it�s gorgeous with a Moebius-inspired art style (it looks more Brandan Graham honestly, but that�s kind of a deep cut). Not sure how I feel about the gameplay. Controls are a bit wonky and it could use some QoL improvements before it releases.

Think Gran Turismo but better. Forza Motorsport (mainline) has more stuff flying off your car and more crunchiness to the damage model but you'll never see screaming metal shrapnel spraying.

A modern Burnout Paradise is pretty close to what Horizon tries to be. It's very fun.

Also it's on GamePass so no need to take our word for it.

It could be an amazing game if they polished it up. But I think it�s from a pretty small team and I doubt they�ll be able to overhaul so many things.

The licensing problems in these games has more to do with the cars than the music tbh, especially for the mainline series.
