So moving away from E3 for a moment; I've got some spare cash and I was thinking of picking up SMT 3. I've always wanted to play the series and I seem to recall hearing 3... or was it 2? was one of the best? Is the Switch remaster/port any good? And if so, is the DLC worth it? Should I get the regular or the deluxe edition and is SMT 3 an okay place to start for someone going in blind? It's like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest where each game is basically self-contained besides the basic premises, right?

The DLC is skippable, it’s just pay to win fast grind spots. There’s also a dlc to replace the crossover character with Dante (from the Devil May Cry series), but I’d save that for a second playthrough, unless you’re a huge fan of his.

That was a great direct! Much better than the Xbox one! We're finally getting Danganronpa! With a new game that looks cool! Monstie Riders looks really good! So does SMT 5! Mario Golf! New WarioWare! (though I'm worried it's not gonna be as fun as the random minigames if you have to control characters) New Mario Party is a loving joke, that's DLC that they've decided to make into a new game. I am so disappointed with old Mario Party so I won't be getting that. Always wanted to play Advance Wars but not for £50! Metroid also looks really cool but not for £50!

There were bits and pieces of Dread where I wasn't super into how it looks, but on a whole I like it and I'm excited to play it. I haven't touched any of the games in a long time. What's the best way to revisit the first two?

Metroid 1 is really rough to play now but it has a great remake called Metroid Zero Mission and can be downloaded on Wii U if you have one or otherwise emulated

It's a shame my niece was born just a little too late for those, would've loved em. Starlink, though, was way more fun. Like, the game itself was fun, and switching out weapons/ships/pilots on the fly was cool as hell while levelling them up. Really annoying that it was that toys-to-life franchise that flopped.
