Wales covid vaccination info: In the spirit of procrastination, I checked it out: For urgent travel (but you might have to wait 10 working days for the cert! That doesn't strike me as what people usually mean by 'urgent'!) https://gov.wales/demonstrating-your-covid-19-vaccination-status-when-travelling-abroad quote:How to request a certificate if required for urgent travel NHS app for Wales 'shortly' https://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/how-vaccine-passport-you-live-20671688 quote:waffle waffle Page snipe: 52 weeks in a year. That's it because I have run out of inspiration and I'm pining the loss of £900 from my credit card extorted by the dentist this morning and that's just the first tranche.

Angrymog posted:Does that page come up after you select 'cancel and rebook?' Yeah, you get a couple of opportunities to bail before actually cancelling your appointment. What is also annoying is that it won’t let you rebook your second appointment less than 8 weeks after your first, but will still show availability dates for the next week. I don’t care if they have space on 18th June when I can’t book mine for before July 10th anyway.

Danger - Octopus! posted:You're not meant to get any paper proof in Scotland as standard. Tells you how to see an online record here https://www.nhsinform.scot/covid-19-vaccine/after-your-vaccine/get-a-record-of-your-coronavirus-covid-19-vaccination-status and you can request a printed copy online or by phone if you need it. Lol the problem is I never got a letter or anything with a username on, just a call from my GP, and the site doesn't recognise any of my details. I think the system was changed midway through because I had a call for the first dose, but then I was about a week out from being 12 weeks after that and heard nothing. I called my GP but apparently they couldn't do anything and it was all done by a central office now. The national helpline couldn't find my details, and I ended up having to wait on hold for hours on very poorly advertised local vaccination advice number before I arranged dose 2. So it seems a good bet I've fallen through the cracks in the official documentation, which is cool.

The NHS app should update almost immediately with your vaccination status, it records everything on the system via your NHS number with the date and batch data on it as well. You should have your card with the sticker on it, if your vaccination status is not showing on the app then you have to get your GP to update your records manually using that card.

I just found a bumblebee on the ground outside my door. I also found that if you google what do do when you find a bumblebee on the ground you enter a minefield of everyone shouting about what you must or must not do and sugar water and cider and David Attenborough and so on. So I settled for gently moving them to one of the regionally appropriate wildflowers I'm growing in the back yard, which they grabbed onto themselves. Now I'm just worried that Attenborough is going to come to my house and tell me that I personally just did climate change, I had a vague idea that there were some general dos and don'ts but not that it was quite so divisive. It's like the should ducks have bread thing.

A bumblebee woke me up this morning and then flew into a cobweb from which it struggled to escape. I used the corner of a magazine to liberate it from spiderprisonment, opened the window as wide as it could go and it flew out and away with a bit of web still dangling off it. Silly bumblebee.

Thing is I'm pretty sure Fox News grabs its audience specifically because it presents all its poo poo in a wrapper that its original audience is trained to find comforting and appealing. Slick presentation, attractive and vaguely charismatic hosts speaking in accepted authoritative accents, enough variety and a comforting schedule to make a background noise of hate and fear while they sit on the couch staring or go about their day. If you don't have all those elements, the bare minimums, the audience starts to pay attention rather than be passively brainwashed, and they don't want that!

Fox News worked because when it started it was BIG and SEXY with fancy graphics and charismatic hosts GB News is coming into a world where we've had 24 hour news for decades, the graphics look like they were done by a Year 9 student, and they have the melting remains of Andrew Neil. Who the gently caress is going to tune in to that.

With honey bees it's supposedly because they go back to the hive with information about a cheap source of carbs with can interfere with normal food finding behavior. With bumblebees it's not that terrible as a last resort but it is still junk carbs compared to putting them on a nice flower. But apparently someone put out a meme claiming to be endorsed by David Attenborough that you should always do sugar water whenever you find a bee ever and it blew up so because of the internet it's now a knowledge fight. Like with the bread for ducks, you're not Pol Pot if you throw some ducks bread but it's not the best food for them either.

Definitely don't give ducks bread if you live anywhere with a significant seagull population, because it attracts seagulls who kill the baby ducks (that's what the signs say in the park I just went for a walk in, anyway. Good park 8/10, excellent baby swans 11/10. I'll get you guys pictures next time if they're still there)

People now are getting letters with reference numbers and stuff in advance of their appointments, but I didn't have any of that. I'm also not actually sure NHS numbers are a thing up here either? I think it's a different referencing system. However! I did find my details. Turns out my record has a slight error in my postcode, which is why my details weren't being recognised. I tried again using the incorrect postcode and it's all there. It is a bit concerning though, I am sure some people must be misplaced in any situation where you totally change the way a system is organised halfway through a mass vaccination campaign. I don't even want to imagine how it works if people have moved between England/Scotland/NI between doses, lord.
