If we go by Kumoko's judgement they would taste delicious too, because of anime protagonist beauty bonus.

At this point I'm hoping the Kumon Lord gets to meet Shun before the season ends just so she can beat his rear end and knock some sense into him. Also it'd be funny to see Fei meet Kumoko and try to apologise only for Kumo to barely remember her. I'm on Team Demon all the way, everyone knows science is always evil in fantasy stories.

So I note that the credits officially stopped being coy, "white" is now officially credited as being voiced by Yuki Aoi and has her credit at the top of the cast list where Kumoko usually goes. As for the episode proper, that really did not look very good…

It did annoy me that Fei did absolutely zero fighting though.

I think it's because they had no other choice. Kumoko had no lines in this episode and leaving a voice actor uncredited in an episode simply does not happen. Only mentioning some roles and omitting others is fine though, as long as they get credited at least once (source: The Konosuba radio show, where that topic came up once)

Isn't next week the season finale? I hope the spotlight on team Shun is minimal and they instead focus on Kumoko and Ms. demon lord's fight. Would suck to end the season with more X-Arm tier cgi fights between characters no one cares about.

But then again, Kumoko loving DIED in her last fight with Ariel, so what else could they show?

That last episode should have been directed with Sophia as the protagonist. Just have Shun over there in the middle distance, stomping his feet and waving his sword around as he does his hero speeches.

The final episode's release has been delayed due to production issues. A nice way to cap off this show's run with this studio. https://twitter.com/kumoko_anime/status/1407987676557418499?s=20

I hope that results in a better quality for the last episode. Didn't part 5 of Jojo do the same thing? I recall they showed the last two episodes on a Saturday a month after the season ended.

Like those other human-centric episodes passed and were good to go out the door.

One hopes this is a matter of the episode being up to the "standards" of last episode and them deciding that's not good enough as opposed to it being worse than that or just not finished at all.

According to a (machine translated) tweet from a guy who works for the 3d studio, it sounds like the problem is roughly what we guessed: The 3d studio has been occupied in the last few episodes make 3D versions of scenes that were planned to be 2D (either because some work was lost or because it was not suitable, it's not clear?) and they fell behind on the last episode.

Talking about this guy? https://twitter.com/naoyafukushi/status/1408360963300945921 My read from the translation was that the 3d studio was focusing efforts on blu ray revisions and fell behind on the broadcast version. I don't see this guy in any of the English sites as having any credits for a Spider project, though that doesn't mean that he didn't, since they will often times not be exhaustive in pulling the credits for folks who aren't the VA's or directors. He does say he's involved in the twitter bio.

Certainly a galaxy brain decision to pull people off the broadcast team who have to work to a pre-defined and very public schedule so they can work on a bluray that could be released whenever. Is it typical for streaming services to replace the originally broadcast episodes if they are revised for the bluray release, or are they stuck with the embarrassing versions forever?

It reads more like Millepensee had to redraw outsourced animation themselves instead of working on the BluRay-version. So what we got was already them trying to fix it and that delayed work in the later episodes.
