also weird how the current crop of wonderboys has been the same for the last 10 years or so. like the closest we ever got is Charlie Diaper.

I dated a 21 year old when I was 28, the age difference was very weird. Ignoring that it's illegal in large parts of the country and obviously morally wrong, what the gently caress do you talk about with a 16 year old on a date in your late twenties? My default questions for teenagers when I have to talk to them is what classes they like (which I hatedgetting asked about when I was in high school). I'm guessing the 16 year old dating a 27 year old doesn't want to talk about school.

No, you are a child. A literal child. You are in 5th grade. You have only had functional sentience for about 7 years now.

Also turns out that kid is the child of some scam financial guru named Grant Cardone. So she's been extensively coached probably since learning to talk to play a part in his schemes. Can't wait to see how that mentally breaks her in a few years.

It's kind of built-in to human childhood to regard your parents as largely infallible and benign until you either get old enough to realize that they are just normal people who you love and respect because they are decent, kindly and loving, or get old enough to realize these people are demented mushbrained fuckwits. That poor child is still at the 'infallible and benign' stage.

Hopefully, she'll get a clearer perspective before she's hopelessly embedded in their weird Cult of Capitalism.

I've reached that level of :cloud: where I just can't deal with "kids" in their early 20s. I went back to grad school to do my PhD at 30 and the others starting the program fresh out of undergrad were 21, 22 tops. There's just a huge maturity gap where they don't have anything resembling perspective yet. They'd lose their mind over any assignments and how hard and unfair their life is because they had to supervise one whole physics lab each week so how could they ever find the time to do a handful of problems or a 4 page paper!

I had a full time job and those weren't hardships. I get it, I'm sure I was just as bad if not worse at that age, but I quickly drifted away from that group (half of them straight up failed out after one semester anyway).

Those were actual "adults" with college degrees, though. I hated teenagers when I was one, dating one sounds like a new level of hell.

The cult of "business" is too on the nose for a cyberpunk distopia so of course it is real.
