Yeah, we all got extremely lucky there I think. The circuit-breaker lockdowns are demonstrably effective too, because Victoria's latest one yielded a few cases that have petered out due to the virus having nowhere to go past the initial infectees. You guys are gonna have a much worse time of it by the time the secondary cases start popping due to waiting.

And fingers crossed none of them decide now's the time to go down to Melbourne to wait it out :ohdear:.

They work pretty well for fortress wa as well.

I asked to take two for the same reason and was told seriously and in no uncertain terms that it was only one chupa-chup per person.

for me its the stroke. I am terrified of strokes.

A slow march to death with 6 of 12 months left to spend living life to the fullest? OK, wont tick off the whole bucket list but you'll hit most of it before you're bed ridden.

Yeah, if they think waiting til the weekend is going to help, they're sorely mistaken. I reckon you're looking at a six-week lockdown, minimum, right now. And probably get a premature "all-clear" at week four because oh no the businesses are unhappy.

not quite the same. the people use a Nest thermostat (you know that dumb rear end google IoT smart home poo poo) signed a form saying 'the electric co. can adjust your thermostat when the grid is under load, in return you will be entered into a lottery and might win something' and then when it got adjusted, they complained.

it was adjusted from 20C to 25C.

they 'woke up sweating' and 'feared for their baby's well being'

25c is basically a perfect temperature if the sun is out. I wouldn't want to sleep in it ideally but it's mild discomfort at worst.

The bigger story is handing over control of your thermostat to a power company... in Texas. A state that deliberately cut itself off from the national energy grid to avoid regulation which resulted in people being charged extortionate amounts of money for power in a blizzard and dozens of people, including children, just straight up dying. It's a loving dystopia.

gently caress sparkies are cheeky

Got a bloke out to quote:
- install split system
- change over ceramic fuses to safety switches
When Mrs Spergo was home. They quoted $4250.

We also wanted to get pricing for:
- run a 15 amp line in the shed ($800)
- supply and install 2x hardwired smoke alarms ($880)

I spoke to a bloke at work about it because it seemed loving exorbitant, and he thought the same. We got two other blokes out and both quotes were around $2200. But they both mentioned that the split system we got left was borderline too small for room, so now for $4040 were getting
- supply and install a suitable split system with the unit on the roof
- run a 15 amp outlet in the garage
- change over the switches to a more modern fuse box
- two hard wired smoke alarms

Fuckin sparkies
