they also endorsed Biden and acted shocked when he said he was going to appoint Cedric Richmond like two days after the election

I was wrong, Sunrise gave a loud endorsement to Joe Biden and worked hard to guilt libs and environmentalists into voting for Joey B. Once in office, Joe Biden promptly ignored the Sunrise Movement and all its overtures. In response, the Sunrise Movement posted on twitter, fundraised, and was publicly excited for future environmental legislation from Biden.

Weird to say that anyone who says they're leftist is tainted b/c they're sponsored by an ineffectual environmental organization. At least wait to have them not vote for a decent min wage or something.

No, the critique is: Matt Zerella posted:isn't Caban Sunrise? good for her but I fully expect disappointment there. which is reading "Sunrise doesn't do poo poo" backwards. That makes their endorsement worthless, but it doesn't make people who receive their endorsement worthless. Like I firmly expect no change to the pace of improvement on environmental poo poo and prison abolition, because one or two or three socdems on the council isn't enough to enact an agenda. But let them get sworn in before you decide they're full of poo poo.

just for the record I like Caban (I voted for her for Queens DA) and I'm happy for her but I expect absolutely nothing from her and we align on the reasons why. didn't mean to be abrasive.

The terrifying thing was how long he kept polling well after he started opening his mouth. He was talking about a casino on Governor's Island and turning midtown into a crypto mine for months before he lost his name ID halo.

I always thought he was a joke but no joke I was getting a little worried when he was talking about cutting taxes for property owners and raising funding for the police. Combining the pro police and FYGM lobbies is a potent combination. But Adams solidly got that bloc instead.

Am I just stupid (don't answer that), because I feel like none of the analysis are taking the whole RCV system seriously. It's not like any projections are giving a full majority to any one candidate, right? So even if Yang got the least, it's time to see who his supporters put as second choice, etc?

but the guy the cops and media want is winning which if you think about it is practically like being the winner for real so please move along

Nah, I feel similarly. Maybe this is a "I don't know anybody who voted for Richard Nixon" thing on my part, but I can't see tons of people putting Adams in lower ranks. He has less of a jump to 50+1, but it's still based on people who may not have ranked him at all.

Same, I can plausibly see Adams as the most likely ultimate winner, but most likely doesn't mean likely.

we won't know the results for weeks but that's boring and media outlets like to declare poo poo ASAP for views and narratives. even if he wins at the end of July declaring anybody a victor right now is just making poo poo up.
