Some are lemony, some are more 'herbal' from thymol, but they're all low maintenance, fine with being walked on occasionally, don't need much maintenance, and they're non-toxic if pets or young children decide to put them in their mouth, so it sounds perfect for family homes.

It really does make the whole "you must have a patch of grass too small for grazing but large enough that it doubles the city water consumption and requires an engine on wheels to manage" aesthetic seem absurd in comparison.

She could have given any response to that question and it would not matter in the slightest, but she gave the boring non-committal one that we're all savvy to and it'll backfire.

I can just start using the scythe in sandals and shorts and it took me five minutes to clear one ditch when I first tried without any handles, basically as fast as I would've done it with the weedwhacker. I also detest working on engines so I really value not having to do that. One time I started it up, flies came flying out of it.

Also consider the microplastic pollution.

I think my brain just crashed a few gears from that. "People are sick of thinking there's a magic money tree" - are they? Is there a single person who woke up today going "That loving magic money tree is really pissing me off!" And then "there isn't" - er, the Tories just proved the exact opposite when they started shaking it in the pandemic. Granted, most of its fruit dropped straight into the gobs of their donors and previous employers and personal friends, but still.

Of all the bad things Starmer's Labour has done, the absolute ghoulishness of pushing a dead woman's sister into the limelight purely to guilt trip people into voting for them may be the worst, just for what it tells us of how nakedly uncaring they are of anything but their own greed.

Also, saying "There's no magic money tree" when the Tories just spunked up hundreds of millions for a new royal yacht makes you look like a loving idiot.

It's my pride and joy. I know it's "easy" to install but I measured, bought the right attachment, had all the tools laid out and installed it without a hitch. Felt like my dad.

Well except my dad would have cut his thumb and sworn before going and getting drunk and yelling at my mum. But still.

Does she have any political experience whatsoever? LinkedIn says she's been a personal trainer for the last 15 years.

Not to say MP candidates need political experience but it really feels like they asked her to do it purely because of her name rather than her being the right person for the job or actually having any interest in doing it.

She wasn't even a member of the Labour Party. They tossed that rule on the fire when they saw their chance to emotionally blackmail people into voting for her.

I'm sure she woke up and thought that, along with a lot of the labour right. I think they probably wake up every day fuming that jeremy corbyn dared to say it was silly and that's basically 100% of their motivation for existing.

In usage it's practically impossible to get the blade come flying at your feet, you''re holding it on a long stick and would have to switch up to a weird grip to get it to come at your feet. The most dangerous situation I can come up with is when walking with it, but this depends on how you hold it.

At any rate I mostly walk about in a sort of hybrid boot / slipper that's closed at the front during summers.

I'm pretty pleased with the results!

Now I have to do the side bit which is twice the size and is full of demon nettles.

Looks nice, we've done the same around some bushes. But our yard is 2400m2 and 800-ish of it is lawn. What I did this year was get the most middle class thing possible, a robot mower when my regular walk behind mowers gearbox literally melted down. But man it's so nice. It keeps the grass trimmed and I only occassionally need to rescue it. This way I can keep the lawn trimmed higher than when I used a regular mower, so it doesn't cut away most of the flowers.

What seems like an eternity ago and there had only been a few terfy legal things involving Glinner and mattresses two of us sat down and went though the funder lists because we thought people were using a company where they would give £2000 of their own money to bots who would then all donate £5, which would make the campaign seem more popular than it was.

What we found out was that it was about £1000 of bot money coming from America, 8-10 real humans - which was the size of the uberterf group and then one whacking great big donation which would bring them to goal.

It happened every single time and through every other grifty fundraising thing and we thought it might be a group like wolf, but why would they when they have their own campaigns? and then JK came out as a TERF and it all made perfect sense.

What’s the deal with the cspam U.K. thread? Is it the tankie thread and I just didn’t realise or am I being trolled and am in fact a total mug?

CSPAM is very hostile to criticism of anything even vaguely related to Marxism-Leninism. It's mostly a good place but don't dare criticise the record of ML regimes towards workers, be it Kronstadt uprising or the massive glaringly obvious inequality in China, etc
