Whelp I guess Shirkawa saving Odokawa from the manager was just a good ol' fashioned plot hole. Same with little Diamon being at the docks to shoot Dobu. I also still don't know why new Yuki placed the phone in the cab and why Tanaka was using it.

i think people deduced basically everything in this ep beforehand but it was nice to see it all confirmed, and the taxi jump was a wonderful climactic scene. good show

Excellent, excellent. I wasn't expecting we'd get to see everyone's actual faces, so that was a nice bonus. In the final minute I thought the cops would pull up alongside fake Yuki and arrest her. Her getting into Odakawa's taxi instead was a bit D: The plunging car shot was a nice piece of artistry.

 Holy poo poo. Like there's probably a few other shows that might be worth catching up with, but I legit don't think anything is going to top this as AOTY for me. This is basically like in the same ballpark as A Place Further than the Universe, Little Witch Academia or similar shows in that it's A) An excellent standalone show and B) An incredible gateway anime. Sakura is loving scary, man.

I'm a little confused now. What was Fake Yuki's motive for killing real Yuki? I guess she's going around murdering people who could tie her to the murder? I thought her motive was jealousy from being fourth place at the auditions, but from her last phone call I guess she's just a serial killer failing downwards as an excuse to murder people?  Regardless, what a fantastic show! Bravo!

Something else that I found funny: The blue hippo guy was taking a selfie just before the taxi launched off the expressway after which he swung around to try and snap some photos for his second attempt at a big viral breakout hit. It's implied he hosed up and took more selfies instead.

Ah, Baba really did have a horse face! I was honestly really charmed by how closely everyone looked to how I imagined them- I think the only ones I was surprised by were Shibagaki and, actually, Odokawa himself. You can tell Odokawa had internalized a lot about being called a walrus as a kid; otherwise it actually doesn't seem that fitting. My initial reaction to the end of the episode was not being sure I liked it, but I'm feeling better about it the more I think about it. I don't like it in terms of wanting Odokawa to be happy and everything, but I can't say it didn't all come together perfectly (I was wondering how they'd have time to fit everything in the last episode, but it turned out the missing girl storyline seemingly going by the wayside was the point). In terms of everything else, nothing was a big surprise, but sometimes you just need everything to tie up just right. So excited to see what this crew makes next. I haven't watched a lot of shows like this in general, both in terms of anime and non-anime. What a treat.

Oddest (but sorta not important) thing, though? Hearing Natsuki Hanae (Odokawa's voice actor; also the voice actor for 9S in NieR Automata and Alm in Fire Emblem, among many many other things) use his "boyish"/more commonly used voice for Odokawa's flashback. I had grown attached to his more moody, sorta "plain" voice for Odokawa, it came as quite a surprise.
