And Dee Yun is actually (one of) their rules lawyer(s) now, which is a good thing. AMG folks were learning the game some weeks ago, so I was already quite sceptical about their ability to identify and answer the kind of issues...

The last of ffgs content is supposed to hit in a few months and the fact that all we've gotten is a forum and a handoff to some community guy to handle rules so far is not very encouraging.

I'm really curious how much advance notice the AMG people got of the license move. It seems like they really weren't prepared to take over all the Star Wars licensed games. I'm hoping once the FFG stuff is all out they have some kind of big announcement with a timeline and new products in the works and stuff like that. So far though, yeah I'm not confident in their ability yet.

I hope that Xwing doesn't end up dying from this mixed with the pandemic. I play other miniatures games, but Xwing seems to have the 'tightest' ruleset and games generally aren't decided at list creation.

I love X-Wing but due to the pandemic and other factors I haven’t moved my ships on a board since March 2020. I’m tempted to sell off my collection but the game has a bit of an emotional link - I met a lot of good people through the game and it helped kickstart my niece into Star Wars. I might gift her some of my collection so she can play on her own though. I’m just excited for alternate competitive formats - I’m tired of just 200v200 deathmatch. Had a blast in V1 just doing the scenarios like escorting the ambassador shuttle - not to mention HotAC formats that led to players I would run games with to customize their pilot’s ships to stand out more.

I’m playing with my boy and treating it more like a campaign with a slow point increase. He like the scum faction ships so he’s basically a merc doing jobs for hire. So far just chasing away pirates but I’m going to branch out into defending cargo ships and destroying satellites.

LGS in my area that hosts X-wing has opened back up, but still with a mask requirement. Turns out a good chunk of the local community are the types that think masks are evil, so X-wing is still a no-go around here.

The mask I have really is no less comfortable than not wearing one. This might just be that I'm used to face coverings already since the northern Great Plains region is a windy, frozen hellscape a good portion of the year. The only people I've met that have a problem with masks are usually in the camp of "masks are fascist". I dunno, I guess I'm also itching to push around tiny spaceships and don't care if I have to wear a mask to do it even though I'm vaccinated.

My local scene is starting back up (for the moment, the LGS takes COVID seriously so the Delta outbreak may cause them to shut down again). I'm not sure if I even want to go back to playing with that play group though. A large portion revealed themselves as anti-vax/mask. Smaller city too, so it's really the only community within an hour drive.
