to be fair you should have known about the merger and the impending fees, it was public knowledge you should definitely ask them to reverse it but you should also file this in the "lessons learned" folder

I see some articles suggesting Union Pacific stock is undervalued, and has a good dividend, but I honestly have no idea what the future of railroads looks like. Thoughts?

Well this is interesting, I had Aug 20 7.50 TRCH puts and I was up on them since TRCH was under $5 this morning. Then the merger happened and now I have Aug 20 7.50 MMAT puts but MMAT is around $8. e: also can AMC either moon or crash already, this $50-60 range sucks for my puts. Rail isn't going anywhere because american infrastructure is dogshit except for the highly maintained commercial rail system. Because we're 50 years behind other developed nations and america is basically two coastal mega cities with a depressing void in between, I'd bet solid money rail will be around until the collapse. Whether that translates to stock profits, I have no idea. Aviation is dropping after good numbers. This casino is goofshoes.

It is a pretty unfair advantage that transporting something cross-country in France is, what, 80 miles? But yeah, we have neither high speed rail nor high speed anything AND America is loving massive and 96% of it is uninhabited.

I think it's extremely loving stupid to pretend like the US only exists in two cities. How the hell do you think you'll ever bring people around to support more socialist type policy by telling them you hope they die? lmfao That's all without even mentioning that you are deciding those people don't deserve any state support. Ive sat across the boarder in Texas and watched people in Oklahoma cut off their nose to spite their face for decades now. It really doesnt matter what I or anyone else says at this point, the leaders they have chosen are just going to spin it to be whatever is convenient. And to be clear, I dont advocate for people in Oklahoma to all die. I feel more of a Thunderdome style scenario would be much more beneficial to everyone.

You feel like people in the rural parts of the US should get hosed and fend for themselves? Since we're on somethingawful I will assume you lean left, and if that's the case you fundamentally misunderstand the point of leftism/socialism. The people you disagree with need help too.

Well, on a more serious note yes rural poverty is one of the saddest things Ive seen. The fact that so many rural people have been basically brainwashed to vote for leaders who dont represent their best interests and in many cases actively work against their interests makes me sad. Which is why I feel that survivors of the Oklahoma Thunderbowl should all receive free, involuntary admission to reeducation camps to help resolve these issues.

A HORNY SWEARENGEN posted:Rail isn't going anywhere because american infrastructure is dogshit except for the highly maintained commercial rail system. Rail is the most efficient way of transporting goods across land. Of course more rail connections, electrification and general infrastructure improvements would make it better from to the sad state it's in compared to many other countries, but it's still the way to transport freight all around the world and won't be replaced by anything. But the US commercial rail system is anything but "highly maintained", it's really crumbling, suffering chronic underinvestment with terrible rail condition in many places and has tons of bottlenecks that could be alleviated with a modicum of buildup. gay picnic defence posted:Hyperloops?
