also good to remember the 'victims of communism' project literally counts nazis as victims of communism. Zenz is a complete psycho who has overtly said multiple times his agenda is to 'bring Christianity to China' and his followers very pointedly don't actually go to China to research this poo poo, instead using insane sources like satellite images and Kazak sources going 'uh yea my Uyghur neighbor totally got disappeared'. Some of their hits include claiming a historical mosque was being demolished by the CCP, only to reveal they used satellite imagery of an outer gate being renovated when multiple Chinese Muslims said 'uh I go to that mosque????' and literally using like third hand testimony that boiled down to 'well my cousin hasn't called me in a while so I assume he's been murdered by the government...no we never really talked much anyway...' They also spread the incredibly racist myth of 'Chinese organ harvesting' when they tried to claim that wigs were being made of Uyghur hair because, as mentioned, none of these people speak or read Chinese and they confused a label saying the wigs were made IN Xinjiang for a label claiming they were made from the people OF Xinjiang, like a bad Twilight Zone episode. This is while claiming that there are mass grave level killings and forced sterilization programs that would be extremely easily proven by documentation.

The water situation in China is a legitimately interesting line of discussion and I don't think there's any problems there in people wanting to bring focus to it. Perhaps as a somewhat out there question, but would ice asteroid mining be something that could solve water insecurity if the logistics were solved? I always figured that if China could build a space elevator it would go a long way to solve many of their existential problems; access to cheaper and less environmentally toxic rare earths; water; infinite free real estate to build condos.
