Texas hasn’t had protections in place for four months and people have been going about business as usual. Thankfully it hasn’t been catastrophic but I think maybe that’s because the not-careful people and assholes refused to do masks or distancing any of the time and have all already been exposed 1000 times and the careful people (a minority) have gotten vaccinated
