Wait a minute, was that a CLAMATO billboard on the back of the bench there?

Gatorade, I could see. But Clamato?

Caesars (the canadian bloody mary) are insanely popular in Canada. Clamato is a very common drink here for that reason.

Just sort of idly observing. Their numbers are also seriously inflated by getting to play a truly awful Winnipeg team.

They remind me of the 2017 Senators who got to game 7 of the ECF but whose win and scoring number suggested a performance in line with "worst team in the league, possibly over a several-year stretch."

Ah that makes more sense. Thanks.

Years of watching sports have conditioned me that the only beverages you can advertise during games are beer or Gatorade.

Between 3 being close to the bench and 4 having not yet entered the play, that's standardly let go.

I looked into it around the time they beat the Jets:

Since the 04/05 lockout 19 teams have made the playoffs with a negative goal differential. Those teams collectively won an average of 3 playoff games a year. Only four made it past the first round.

Of those 19 teams, only five had a goal differential of -10 or worse. All but one of those teams lost in the first round of the playoffs. The outlier? The 2021 Montreal Canadiens who despite being on pace for a goal differential of -13 just advanced to the Conference Stanley Cup Finals. This is the 3rd time since the lockout the Montreal Canadiens have made the playoffs with a negative goal differential (the most of any franchise) having previously done so in 2006 (-4) and 2010 (-6).

The only other teams to make it as far as the Habs this year with a negative goal differential? The 2017 Ottawa Senators (-2) and the 2010 Montreal Canadiens (-6).

On top of being witness to the most successful teams ever, fans of the Montreal Canadiens have the distinction of getting to watch the most successful bad teams of the current era too.

The Habs are uniquely terrible for a playoff team, let alone one in the Cup Finals.

They're having a bump up in popularity to the point where you see some dedicated Caesar Bars over the last 8-10 years, but they've been consistently popular here for decades.
