Conveniently I had 24 laser cut knife blanks show up the first day of lockdown so I'm set. I'm literally eating lunch at my desk, doing minimum hours to get my weekly hours done and spending my time out in the garage grinding knife bevels so I can get em out to heat treatment This is grouse

Yeah I'd like something a little more concrete than maybe a weekly update to the lockdowns - from my reading of Jetstar's Covid-related flight changes I've pretty much got to wait to within 7 days of my scheduled flight to determine if I'm affected by Border Restrictions and can cancel/reschedule my flights without penalty. The Security Conference in Sydney that I was using as an excuse to get work to pay for the tickets has been postponed until November and the Missus is champing at the bit to go somewhere, almost anywhere ( she had been looking at the possibility of New Zealand before deciding that was going to be too much of a hassle, and we both shot down Canberra ) and I'd like start booking something a little closer to home ( Tassie North West Coast ) because I'm taking that time off with her regardless.

i was going to the snow with my brother for his birthday this weekend which is not happening (cancelled that last week) and now im worried about a concert I wanted to see next weekend being cancelled, a cairns bucks party in mid august and every other weekend + a week in august at the snow being cancelled too. also heaps stoked I spent $500 on new snowboard boots and about $1500 in car maintenance in preparation for the ski season that is now very likely not happening. just stoked.

I don't think there's any chance of us getting down to multiple days of zero this month, which is what other states will require before opening their borders to people from NSW.

NSW state politicians are already making noises about giving up on the lockdowns and just learning to live with the virus, and are passing the blame onto community members not doing their partquote:NSW may never control its current COVID-19 outbreak, and be forced to live with the virus for good, Health Minister Brad Hazzard says. If one state goes with the 'live with the virus' strategy and the others go for a zero tolerance that could be an interesting situation

Yay I work in Fairfield, and from what I can tell we are hosed. Patients still bringing in their whole rear end extended family for their appointment to clutter up our "5 person max" waiting room. An hour early. To just hang out. Who all "don't know" how to use the qr code check-in so I have to do it for them all. At least I have my second dose of 5g this Friday, whatever that's worth after the next gen of lambda or whatever gets out.

Your bosses need to set some boundaries or they'll end up having to close the practice when someone with covid rocks up and everyone who was there at the same time gets counted as a close contact.

I want the next variant, let's say Epsilon, to also have the effect of making making your hair fall out, terrible acne or massive weight gain. I want to see if it shakes things up a bit

We try, but they get really goddamn rude and aggressive about it, and everyone gives up Also had a patient ask for his consult to be bulk billed because he has nine kids and it's hard to have 9 kids. No, his job hasn't been affected by covid, he just has too many kids and it's somehow on us to compensate him for that. .....so he's getting bulk billed BC my boss is a softie. I cannot loving wait til I find a new less stressful job, like deactivating laserbombs or something

The real "problem" with COVID is it doesn't have an discernably-unique visible symptoms you can use to scare the idiots with. Being similar to a cold or flu just makes them wave it off as no big deal until it is one, and it'd ironically probably be more easier to fight if it was worse than it is. That said, NSW isn't gonna "live with it" so much as "die from it" if they really think that's a good idea . I'm curious as to if Canberra and the ACU agrees, considering they're stuck along for the ride.

well why not posted:understandable! hope all gets sorted out entirely in your favor. 🤙 This x my goodwill wishes on top. Also Malcolm Tbug I seem to recall reading somewhere (maybe at uni?) that THC is fat soluble and thus you will be able to pass a piss test in a shorter amount of time if you are skinny, because your body can't hang onto as much of the THC and you expel it faster than someone who has a higher fat % of body mass. Or it could just be stoner lore that I deluded myself with at some point, who knows
